I have not seen the video for, "Chez Chez La Femme" in years!! Thank you for this. I played this cd yesterday. My favorite cut is, "Hard Times". "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

It's funny, because I can never remember the name of this band. I had to search on google to find it. They were a short-lived band, but I still love their sound.

If I am not mistaken, Kid Creole and the Coconut's came out of this group or were inspired by them. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

[Edited 1/30/09 20:21pm] Why did you change the title from Sunshower to Sunshine? That song was on the B-side of C'est Si Bon. Its a tight track.

August Darnell and Coati Mundi were the leaders of this band and August (aka Kid creole) wrote everything on thier 1st album along with Ms legendary Cory Daye

I LOVE KID CREOLE/AUGUST DARNELL!
He is too talented and so underrated. His work with Dr. Buzzard and his own band Kid Creole and the Coconuts was just classic. Their sound is so unique and captivating, which is why I LOVE IT!!! Some great songs came out of their little army including "Deputy of Love," Que Pasa/Me No Popi," "There but for the Grace of God Go I," and "Cowboys and Gangsters" in addition to all the great Kid Creole and the Cocounuts tracks - "Stool Pigeon," "I'm A Wonderful Thing," "Endicott," "The Lifeboat Party," "The Sex of It," which Prince wrote and so many others. My Kid Creole/August Darnell and Related play list gets steady play on my iPod. Here is a recently released collection of some of the songs he wrote for different artists. [Edited 2/1/09 22:52pm] perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

I really liked Chez Chez Le Femme and if There But For The Grace Of God is theres well that is my ALWAYS favorite. Back in NY on WKTU with PACO they played it all the time when I was a kid. Kid Creole and Coati Mundi are way cool. I saw them in NYC I think they played at SOB's when Sex Of It was out. They put on a good show. Nice to know that they are still touring. I'll check them out.

lol Paco on KTU when he used to give away the "pacooooo paannnnntieeeees" You MADE MY DAY, with that flashback. I do believe he ended up going to jail, due to tax evasion. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I bought that compilation last year and I enjoy it tremendously. Many of those songs I had never heard before.
