Grace Jones Concert Review Sunday 25th January - Colston Hall Bristol.
Before I start I think I should explain that I was not really a big Grace fan. I thought it would be an excuse to get out and probably have a bit of fun. I do like the new album but was not really familiar with her older stuff apart from the obvious chart hits. Colston Hall in Bristol is a old theater and holds about 2000 people. We were supposed to be front row but on arrival were told that we had been repositioned due to some speakers she had brought with her. We ended up 7 rows back centre stage. We were pleased about that as don’t like the front row. I was even more pleased about our new seats when she finally came down from her hydraulic lift which she used to open the concert. She was such a huge character. It would have been intimidating to be any closer. Go to the concert and see her with the symbols and then you will understand. From start to finish she totally blew me away. A costume change for every song and a performance that she really did give herself to. Even if you didn’t appreciate her music you would have been entertained by the stage show she also put on. The band were really good but I must confess to not paying as much attention to them as I usually would as I was transfixed on Grace. Every song she delivered was with power and she took the crowd with her all the time. Halfway though she sang ‘pull up to the bumper’ and had confetti coming down into the crowd the whole song. This got everyone up and dancing and that is how it remained for the rest of the concert. I was and still are in shock by how much I enjoyed the concert. If she tours again I would jump at having the chance to see her again. IF SHE IS PLAYING ANYWHERE NEAR YOU THEN GO. YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON A FANTASTIC CONCERT. If you search for Grace Jones Bristol on YouTube you will see footage of the concert.

Sounds awesome! I she comes to the US. I've only seen her once and am dying to do so again. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Here are a couple of reviews from one of the Camden shows which i was lucky enough to be at. It was an amazing show and Grace is an amazing woman.

She certainly graced the Bristol stage with her presence.
Drinking red wine whilst dancing. Strutting about the stage smashing cymbals. "Pull up" was a carnival atmosphere with fans on the stage giving their all. So much confetti you struggled to see. The final track "Hurricane" was delivered with the help of an industrial fan blowing hard across the stage. Grace staggered about throwing props everywhere. Very effective. A genuine star. Dont miss her! As equality grows, violence declines.

Who's in the band? Are Sly and Robbie touring with her?
