TRON

Smashing Pumpkins/Zwan

I love this band. And even though they broke up, Billy Corgan is keeping busy. Here's what I found out.

They're releasing Earphoria, the audio counterpart to their 1994 video Vieuphoria. Here's a tracklist.

1. Sinfony (Corgan) - :53
2. Quiet [live] (Corgan) - 3:41
3. Disarm [live] (Corgan) - 2:54
4. Cherub Rock [live] (Corgan) - 4:20
5. Today [live] (Corgan) - 3:34
6. Bugg Superstar (Iha) - 1:26
7. I Am One [live] (Corgan/Iha) - 7:53
8. Pulseczar (Corgan) - 2:22
9. Soma [live] (Corgan/Iha) - 6:29
10. Slunk [live] (Corgan) - 2:35
11. French Movie Theme (Corgan) - 1:49
12. Geek U.S.A. [live] (Corgan) - 4:48
13. Mayonaise [live] (Corgan/Iha) - 4:17
14. Silverfuck [live] (Corgan) - 13:27
15. Why Am I So Tired (Corgan) - 15:13

And Billy Corgan's new band Zwan have finally signed with Reprise records and an album should be following shortly.

The tentative tracklisting is:

Honestly
Glorious
And So I Died Of A Broken Heart
Cast A Stone
Endless Summer
Yeah
Jesus I
For Your Love
Settle Down
Lyric
Rivers We Can't Cross
El Sol
Chrysantemum

They're beginning a mini-tour soon with the following dates scheduled.

12/05/02 -- Las Vegas, NV (Hard Rock Hotel - The Joint)
12/07/02 -- Las Angeles, CA (KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas)
12/11/02 -- Boston, MA (Orpheum Theatre)
12/12/02 -- Uniondale, NY (Nassau Colliseum)
12/13/02 -- Washington, DC (MCI Center)
12/15/02 -- Philadelphia, PA (First Union Center)
12/17/02 -- Detroit, MI (Cobo Arena)

yay! yay! yay!

I'm so happy Corgan's doing something - can't wait to buy it. I also hope James Iha gives it another go and actually makes emotional music this time - I liked his songs on the pumpkins records.

Yes, I have. It's awesome. If you put all the songs on 2 discs you have another double album. And it's nearly as great as Mellon Collie. I love how prolific SP were and how consistently great their songs are. They could put out 10 outtakes/rarities collections and I'd still be lapping it up. I miss them.

I was lucky enough to make it to the final show at the Metro but was unable to get tickets. They were going for over $1000 and I only had like $600 with me. But it was so worth it to be with the other fans outside, hear the music over the loud speakers and see the band after the show. The best concert I never saw.
