Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, or Barack Obama

For years, when it comes to who the most famous person in the world is or was, it has always been debatable as to whether it is Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson. After seeing the inaugural the other day and especially the size of the crowd and their reaction at the parade, I think Barack Obama has them both beat.

What do you think? Who do you think the most famous person in the world is or was?

I don't think Obama fits in that string. It's a silly question, sorry. Anyway, who says Mj and Elvis were the most famous people so far? And don't you think Bush was pretty much known as well?

When I say famous, I guess I should have said the kind of famous person that can draw the largest crowds when they perform or speak. Or even the kind that people seem to go the wildest over. Obama would definately be in the same league as Elvis or Michael Jackson.

From my recollection, the title was given to Muhammad Ali.
(confuse or was it the most recognized?)

Anyway at this point, for folks that pay attention to politics and world events, i'd say it'd have to be President Obama.

For folks whose heads stay below that particular radar level, shrug who knows.

Everyone knows Michael Jackson. May not know his music, but everyone knows the name. EVERYONE.

He's been around since he was a kid.

You may have a point there because even Bin Laden has heard of her and loved her. Too bad he didn't come get her back in 1985. Back then, she would have been just kind of sweet little wholesome goodie two shoes he could have made his wife and controlled. I don't know though, if I were forced to listen to her music, I'd probably go crazy enough to talk people into flying planes into buildings myself. Except my target would have been the Arista Records building. lol

Really? Normally, I would make the arguement that even if you don't listen to Elvis or Michael Jackson's music, you've still heard of them. However, I never was into boxing myself but I've definately heard of and would recognize Muhammad Ali. Hell, I even know his former name which is Cacious Clay (I may have misspelled it though). So my arguement doesn't work on that aspect. lol

I still say Ali is the most recognized public figure BESIDES MJ, Obama and Elvis. Ali is just one of those ICONS, you know?

that's the point. He's around for 40 years now. But believe me, Obama is known on a world wide level for maybe ... a 16. I didn't know him in the summer of 2007, I believe...

This discussion is senseless, still. there's no question who's more important right now.
it's like asking who's the most famous German, Lagerfeld, Dietrich or Hitler?

haha, thank your Gods you're not from Germany. Hitler comparisms are not allowed here. ...

and that has his reason.

One shouldn't compare politicians with musicians.

Realistically, It was Ali and MJ.

but who the hell would want to grow up and end up like either of those guys?

Both pummelled tragically into hell. Different methods maybe, but equally guilty of blatant stupidity in the choices they made in there careers.

Ali should have quit after George and Zaire, MJ, i don't know. shit, i'd say Victory or Bad Tours at a push.
