Yep. Honestly, been over 10 years since he released something that I was truly excited about it. I liked N.E.W.S. as background music, though. lol For when I'm dusting or painting...or something.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Thibaut

Man, if Dr Dre would drop Detox that'd be omfg
But that one and the D'Angelo one are like 'I'll Believe It When I See It'
Erykah should release that chapter 2 though. Prince off course is right on top.

Ok, I'll rephrase this(even though I'm positive alot of you know where I'm coming from).

P-Funk was the single LAST good thing since Rainbow Children(musically) in the past 10 years.

The Purple One has been giving copious interviews lately in anticipation of three self-released records coming this year: "MPLSound" is vintage Prince electro-pop,

If this is a truthful description, and I do mean truthful, then this is the type of Prince album I've been waiting for since "Purple Rain". However, knowing that when I criticize the weak sounding shit hop drum machines, people like to say...."well Prince used drum machines"....because they don't have the good sense to know that Prince's drum machines back then sound totally different than shit hop's....I'm kinda worried if this new album actually sounds like the "Minneapolis Sound", or is some dumb ass describing it as that because it may be full of shit hop drum machines and they don't know the difference. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's the true "Minneapolis Sound".

featuring a track with rapper Q-Tip;

THIS is the reason that I wonder if their description of this album is truthful, because a trashy shit hopper is featured on it. Shit hop itself is the enemy to real music and Prince doesn't need to join the enemy, he needs to beat the enemy.

"Lotus Flower" is guitar driven and eclectic;

This could be good.

and "Elixir" is a sultry R&B collaboration between Prince and his newest femme-protégé, Bria Valente.

This worries me too. An album of classic "Do Me, Baby", "Scandalous", "Adore", or "I Hate U" type slow jams would be great (as long as there is another album of fast jams to accompany it). But when I hear of "new protegee", it worries me that it could be some sellout shit hop sounding slow music like "Incense and Candles". I'm keeping my fingers crossed with this one too.

Same fluff, different album shrug

It soundeded like another bullshit he ditched on his fans,,,,and they as usual, ate it up in a heartbeat.

I 4got to say that One Night Alone - Piano was also one of his bright moments in the past 10 years.

Vernon Reid is locked down in the Czech Republic workng on the next Living Colour release: The Chair In the Doorway

Heres Vernon's ongoing Twitter about the recording
http://twitter.com/vurnt22

About The Chair In The Doorway
Living Colour are writing and recording new material for their new album titled "The Chair in the Doorway". The band would like fans, non-fans, and photographers to participate in this process by submitting original images , illustrations etc conveying their interpretation of "The Chair in the Doorway".

The image could become artwork for the next Living Colour album!

Vernon: "I did a press junket for CollideØscope with Corey and whenever something was going wrong Corey would always say "the chair in the doorway". It was just one of these things he would say and I looked at him and said 'you know that thing you always say, that's going to be the title of our next album.' I don't know what that means but that's it. What I like about "The Chair In The Doorway" is that it is a concrete image and a very real thing but……Why is there a chair in the doorway? What does it mean? It's completely abstract, while being a contract, a physical manifestation of what it is."

Proof of ownership will be required prior to finalizing agreements with Living Colour.

Please submit/post a photo by February 28, 2009. Finalists will be appropriately notified.

Here's a recent Hungarian TV appearance interspersed with interview clips.

http://www.mtv.hu/videotar/?id=36946

Here's a synopsis:

Awesome quality but video is out-of-sync with audio. Really hard to
watch, but it sounds great! Looks like this is a TV appearance.

Haven't seen "Bi" in very many setlists. Especially in US. Is this
done on many European tours? Ahh the interview snippet explains
somewhat.

Corey's voice sounds even better than before. Is this due to stage
training in prep for JCS?

Glamour Boys
Type
People Make the world go round - cover of Stylistics song - (I guess
this is the point before going apeshit). Love how they are adding
r&b oldies into the setlist There was a set that did Rick James' "You
And I" that I missed and "Papa was a Rolling Stone" on the Paris
video is a total blast.

Another interview snippet this time on Vernon's other projects
Is Vernon slowly moving to a confession of breaking up the band?
Cool, the Yohimbe Bros new disc is "Critique of Pure Hype"; due in
Feb 2009.

"Bless Those" with vocal by Corey (Doug did lead on Paris video).Just
noticed the video and audio go in-sync.

Love Rears
Should I Stay or Should I Go... Always dug this song, but LC has
taken it over and made it their own.

What's Your Favorite Colour? chanted by Corey over the band's
jammming. Interview snippet with Vernon's prediction on integrating
an artist's new song into a video game.

there is almost nothing on this list i care about, so im curious on how they compiled the anticipation for them. I mean the "FRAY", if you are longing for that then i dont know what to say, the Xtina record isnt going to be out this year, i would be shocked if it was, surprised the NO DOUBT record isnt here on this list, but there are hints that they arent going to have it ready in 09 either.

The Bruce album to me is good, it grows, but its not this "garbage" that people have been labelling it, i mean come on now get real you arent going to get 1970's Bruce anymore, hes 60 not 30. Prince of course is of interest always, but "Lotus flower" is the one i really want, im not crazy about what MPLS sound will be, because hints are its going to be more "funk" in the vein of what he has done on 3121 and Musicology, very clean production, and thats not going to hold me at all, not like a guitar driven Prince album will.
