You're mixing Time 2 Love with The Secret Life of Plants. wink

Oops, my bad..LOL! But yeah, I guess that would be my only complaint about "A Time 2 Love" as well. It's very ballad heavy. I would have loved to have had more songs in the like "Please Don't Hurt My Baby" and "So What The Fuss". But it's a great album nonetheless. "Moon Blue" is a classic track IMO.

Another album that seems to go under the radar a lot is "Conversation Peace". I love this album. Curious to know that other Stevie fans think about it.

I like the album too, that was actually one of my first-ever purchases. biggrin

I thought his career was over after Conversation Peace. I did not like a single song from that cd.

Mine too. "I'm New" is one of the most moving things I've heard. Gosh, I almost forgot about "Jungle Fever". Although I like that album too, I think it's probably his weakest of the past 25 years, but it still has some gems on it though. How could you not love "These Three Words"

"These Three Words" was the best thing about that soundtrack. One of the best songs to come out in 1991/1992.

And yeah "I'm New" is great.

I wish one day Stevie would release a box set of his unreleased material. One can only imagine about all the gems that we haven't heard. A few weeks back I came across some commercials he did. Although the songs in those commercials are 30 second jingles, I still think they would have made killer songs.

I love a lot of his albums from the 1970s and also "Hotter Than July" from the 1980s and the new songs on "Original Musiquarium". As for "In Square Circle", that's when he started falling off just like many other artists started falling off beginning that year.

It's a very good,well-produced album. My only complaint is that there are too many ballads. They're good ballads, mind you,but I wish there was a little more uptempo funk on this album.

No uptempo jams on it? I'm guessing that must be one of the newer ones. Oh no, I refuse to buy an album that doesn't have any jams on it. That ought to be a requirement by the record label. lol

Yeah, it's pretty ballad heavy. But "Please Don't Hurt My Baby" is a nice piece of funk. I think you would like that track

I personally think this is a great album. I think it's a little more consistent that "Conversation Peace" (which is a good album in it's own right). Some very beautiful ballads and some funky stuff ("Please Don't Hurt My Baby", "So What The Fuss") can be found on this album.

Although I consider his 70's stuff masterpieces, I often times find myself listening to "In Square Circle" and "Characters" all the time. I guess that's due to my love of 80's music. But yeah, Stevie is a freakin genius in every sense of the word. There is not ONE single Stevie Wonder album that I have heard that I dislike.

What do you guys think about "Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants"? (Which just may be my favorite Stevie album)

I was more impressed with 'Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants' than 'Songs In the Key of Life' which I remember listening to it seemed for days and still enjoying it.
Stevie one of my Top Five songwriters.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I think that speaks volumes about the man's greatness. He is the only artist who's music I can listen to if I'm having a crappy day and actually lift me out of that funk. He covers so many different subject matters in his songs (Love, cheating, love lost, love gained, poverty, etc etc). He has a song for every occasion.

Well, I don't mind "For Your Love," but that is definitely his worst album.

SirPsycho

and to everyone else,

I wasn't CRAZY about A Time 2 Love at first listen, but when i returned i realized why. I think in situations like this (and it happens with prince to) the artist becomes to big and revered for their signature sound by their late age that albums become "Stevie playing stevie" so it's almost too perfect. the ballads are surup at its sweetest. and the "jams" sound like outdated outtakes..

but overall i came to appreciate the album...

Positivity is my secret jam (i just love people who arent afriad to be happy)
Sweetest somebody I know - arrangement wise - sounds like classic stevie to me (but again, of course..modern/classic stevie)
If your love cannot be moved - is a very owerful song when you conside the lyrics
and i think Blue Moon, is just as good as mid-20 stevie

i've also come to love secret life of plants more than i did when i was little (tho i remember drool -in over Power Flower as a child)

Someone mentioned "these 3 words" as the only good song on Jungle Fever- what about "make sure your sure"?!?!? ...i :love" that song ...not to mention "Feeding off the Love of the Land" (even tho it wasnt on the album)

HAVE ANY OF YOU GUYS HEARD THE TWO SONGS OFF BAMBOOZLED? i think those were some of the best modern stevie records ive ever heard

and ya know....i never really listened to conversation peace...i guess i should check it out huh hmmm

I think that album is severely underrated. It's weird, yes, but in a great way. I totally agree about "Power Flower"; it's the best song on the album and magnificent in every way. My other favorites are "Come Back As a Flower," "Ecclesiastes," "Outside My Window," and "Send One Your Love," but there are plenty of other gems ("Black Orchid," "A Seed's a Star," "Tree," "Finale," "Same Old Story," etc.).

I couldn't agree more. I'm listening to it now. "Black Orchid" is an underrated Stevie classic. "Power Flower" is my song!! And of course "Send One Your Love" is classic!
