Damn Quik..Show some respect. El is smooth. Those first 10 seconds totally set the tone for this performance and was a complete turn-off for me. Foolish, trifling, and a step above coonery...pity he had to take that gig and share the stage with those fools...but musicians have to eat, too [Edited 1/25/09 7:56am]

What city or venue would this have been in to be presented by The Beat 92.3 in 1997?

El Debarge still got it and its a shame he had to share the stage with those fools.

El's hair wasn't even that long.

I am not sure where this is. Quik is from Oakland or Sacramento, I believe, so I think the venue was there.
It is sad that El had to be onstage with those thugs, but let's not forget, El is pretty ghetto himself, he just masks it well and his looks help in that regard. Quik and his crew are incredulous because they most likely have never been around someone with El's talent. I mean, come on, who these days can sing live like that and with El's skill? El even one over those in the audience who most likely never heard of him when he hit those high notes. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I like those crunchy 90s drums in this version. Sounds like a Quik production.

Damn Quik..Show some respect. Cuz DJ Quik is a slick hip-hop producer.
And Debarge was enjoyed a resurgence through all the sampling. Remember LL Cool J and Warren G both looping this song?

Oh Drama-damn, I remember that show, but I think it was also syndicated on another channel, cause no way in hell would I be caught dead watching BET. I wish someone would put that up on youtube "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Oh Drama...I remember how must that show sucked.*smh* Yeah, the show was like the poor man's version of "The View." I'll never forget when El was on there with DJ Quik. He had on an all black leather outfit with his hair hanging down to his shoulders. I was like, "What in the hamhocks?" Nonetheless El sounded good when he sung a snippet of "All This Love."

No, I don't think he looked bad. It's just I wouldn't expect El to be in an all black leather outfit like Chico or Bobby Brown. And I definitely didn't expect him to be around someone like DJ Quik and his crew. Then again I thought El was the shy, soft-spoken, spiritual type.
