Funny you mentioned this because I was at a party last night with a bunch of Brazilian people. They were telling me about a lot of the music they liked in their country. A bunch of names were dropped but the ones that stood out to me and I remember were Cartola and Tim Maia.

Apparently they're very popular and classic artists from Brazil. The one I love the most is not fully Brazilian, but they still got their roots in the music and fuse it with dance, electro, worldbeat and soul. They're called ZUCO 103:

Yes, I have been a very big fan of theirs since 2002. "Tales of High Fever" is my favorite album by them.

does anyone have teh Astrudo Gilberto album "The Girl From Ipanema" but the REAL one. This is such a beautiful song and sooner or later I'll be a huge addict of this. Once again, George Michael showed me the way.

Daniela Mercury

I like the suggestions, this helps me expand since I don't know too many artists.
Have you heard of this group here ( http://www.myspace.com/dagua )?
I can't seem to find anything else for them.
