In my case, I noticed something happening both in 1979 (dramatic sound improvement, maybe the arrival of digital recordings) and 1989 (no more LPs, just CDs)

I wanted to say Off the Wall from 1979 but that's not predictible at all....

I've been stuck on 1979 lately. So many great albums, it's mind-boggling.
