I just can`t get into Billie Holiday`s music, although i like "strange fruit" and "Gloomy sunday". I guess it`s too deep....

I can. Billie has that very haunting voice. I love voices like that: dark, dramatic, mysterious...

Wow.. I'm sure ethnic/ racial slurs aren't acceptable nor tolerated on this forum ANYWHERE, but calling women bitches is...? mad


I like Ms. Ross and Ms. Streisand as singers, but there is some artist (Holiday and Nat King Cole are the two that come to mind) whose interpretation of a song(s) leave such an indelible mark, they should be attempted. With the exception of Ms. Dinah Washington, I never heard anyone singing Holiday standards anywhere close to par. That's just me.....
