This is what I'm talking about!!!!! Oh Lawd just thinking about these songs makes me feel like I'm going to get happy. You all who go to church know what I'm talking about. It's funny that you put it that way and that others have voiced a similar feeling of spirituality related to house music. I've tried to explain it to a few people before and they just didn't understand. Years ago I took a good friend to a deep house party in London that lasted from 430pm until 1am and she was too through with me...It was a long time to hang, I admit, but I couldn't sit myself down. I still remember her asking "why are the songs so long?" Poor thing.

Remember the house mix to Tainted Love. They used to play this alot at the Tunnel. This was one of my favs.
Don't forget Adeva. She was huge on the NYC house seen in the late 80's early 90's. [Edited 2/1/09 8:32am]

I am a HUGE House music fan. I LOVE Frankie Knuckles and make it point to check him out every time he comes to Chicago. One of the most spiritual moments I had was when he played Summerdance here in the park a few years ago - the Godfather spinning House in Chicago outdoors at night in the rain!!! I will never forget it.
Here are some recent faves Kenny Bobien - I Shall Not Be Moved Grand High Priest (aka Craig Loftis) - Mary Mary Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Why the sigh? Did something happen to her???? No, just that she was so much fun, had a great energy about her, loved her voice and she was a blip on the radar screen Would love that she had a real and lasting career. She sure deserved it. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I liked her too. Alot of these folks are better than the popular music going on now. It's a shame they get overlooked for a genre that's been around for some time now.
