The compilation Tron mentioned is a good cross-section of their 80s material. They'd really sanded off some of the rough edges on their sound to good effect by then. Crackdown & Micro-phonies are good stand-alone albums from that era.
Their early records definitely fall into the 'influential but tough listen' category. 2X45 and Red Mecca are good albums from that era - they're defintely crude, but there's a lot of pretty interesting musical elements that keep me engaged. [Edited 1/25/09 15:36pm] | |
