Is Sign Your Name On It? George Michael did a good cover version of it.

Yes, that's on it. And as usual with George, his cover version added nothing to the song and his vocals were bland in comparison.

well, not ALL his covers add nothing. He did rework songs like Dime completely. So he did Ain't No Stopping Us Now (although it's not near as good as the original of course). Killer/Papa Was A Rolling Stone was good too.

Also I think he often enough sang his colleagues into the ground. His version of The Long And Winding Road makes Paul's version sound like a joke.
He outsang Elton on Tonight and Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me,

Well, given that Paul McCartney is a shit singer, it's no big deal to outsing him.

Paul was a good white singer for his time.

Not really. There were plenty of great white singers around then and now.

Nah, it has Jesus Children Of America on it. I've never liked that song. The rest of it, however... drool

Yeah, I don't know about TTD's debut being flawless, but it's all an opinion.

Here are a few of mine:

Most great albums will usually have at least one song that's not as good as the rest, but this one doesn't have a single song that weighs it down. Every song on it is great. I have not heard a more consistently brilliant album.

I agree, fantastic album. And it has also aged flawlessly, sounds as fresh today as it did when it was released.

good distinction, a Celine Dion album could be flawless (though I prefer Hardline)

I'd say that the acapella song is not what I'd call perfect, however

Exactly. A flawless album conveys a mood and/or message, and pulls different songs together to keep that message on point and enhance (or at least, not detract) from the quality of the other songs.
