Mandrill is gonna be great. They're my favorite band. When I lived in L.A. back in the 1990s and promoted a club (were we booked the Black Eyed Peas as our houseband ), we were instrumental in getting Mandrill back together. We talked them into it and they did their first show at our venue. I brought them to Europe for the first time in 1999 and toured with them there. It was massive. They still sound like in 1973. So yeah, I'm looking forward to having them on our radio show.

Just got a chance to listen to the dl. Very nice show.
As...metaphysical...as some of his music is, LLS sounds like such a down-to-earth cat. "Smooth jazz has gotten a little bit too smooth. I mean you can't take the edge away and you can't take the creative improvisation away." tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 [Edited 1/24/09 15:34pm] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Nefti and I go back a long way as well, but the brothers are usually in charge, so it's up to them. Well then, early shout outs to Neftali (played with him - Marcus Malone), Tom Trujillo (a friend & played guitar with them) and Arlan Schierbaum (friend & keyboards with them) And as a Bed-Stuy guy myself, to the Wilson Brothers. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 [Edited 1/24/09 15:49pm] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I've been friends with Tommy for years. He got me together with the Wilson brothers in '96. When I lived in L.A., we sometimes talked on the phone for six - seven hours and we hung out. Shoot me his email if you can, I haven't talked to him in a while. I'm friends with Arlan, too. You know Marc Rey, Mandrill's new guitarist? They hired him on the tour I did with them and let Omar Mesa go for him. Marc also plays with Weapon of Choice. We really know all the same people, dude. We need to hook up when I'm in L.A. next. The whole band used to come down to my house when in Europe, we had barbeques and the Wilson's even went to play tennis with my parents. [Edited 1/24/09 16:23pm]
