The Inaugural Ball Mary's doing Fine now.
She did great until the very end where she dropped the note on the floor. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Actually it's the Neighborhood Ball. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I'm all Obamaed-out.
But let me know how everything goes down with the "neighborhood" and inaugural balls.

I pressed record and walked out the room. I think I overdosed during the parade. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

You too? I was like right there UNTIL that long damn parade! So I just played my Stevie Wonder albums. After a while, I finally turned the channel after it was all over and I saw Barack and Michelle go in the Oval Office. Then after looking at one of the bios TV-One aired for a few minutes, I finally turned the channel at like 7:30-something.

I started to feel sorry for them especially since they had to stand up the whole time. Basically this is an all day event. Uh oh, here comes Bouncy. I only liked the solo performances by Stevie, Mary, and Beyonce at the ball.
Everyone else....Meh. Even cool Adam Levine and Maroon 5 were boring to me. And Alicia Keys...ugh, I just really don't like "No One." "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

I don't think I can watch anymore
I was watching clips from the Clinton Inaugaration from '93 You had Stevie, Diana, Michael, Dionne, Ashford and Simpson, Kenny Rogers, James Ingram, The Winans, Luther, Natalie Cole, Michael Bolton, Tony Bennett, Aretha (medium size), and so on.. "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

See, I was talking with my parents about that show today. I wish we could still have great music star galas like THAT. I kept flipping between channels and going back to the one that was broadcast on ABC to see if it would ever get better. It was absolutely horrible. The only person worth seeing was Stevie Wonder and even his performance was ruined by the presence of those damn shit hoppers on the stage with him. Hasn't the Obama campaign stressed "Change" all along. Well, start with the Inaugural Ball. Change isn't shit hoppers. That's just more SOS (same ole shit) that's dominated for 15 years.
Anyway, I did notice that the DJ was playing some good songs when they would break to go to a commercial and also when they returned from a commercial. And every song the DJ played was old songs. Why? Because those are the only ones suitable for a party and dancing. But was the crowd dancing? No, they were just standing around. Why? Because they don't know how to dance because everything their entire lives has been too damn slow to dance to. They should have gotten rid of all the acts and let the DJ spin records all night. One of the worst was Jay-Z. The song, the glasses, the 'throw your lighters UP' when no one had lighters. Someone at my job said, 'Beyonce's great, but her husband, I don't get him.' Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I guess what irritates me the most is, if it is a party and they bring in all these current acts to perform, then why can't the DJ play current music inbetween the acts for dancing. That shows me that there is no current music suitable for dancing.
So.....since it is a party, why not book acts that make party music....in other words, older acts. It's not like they would be hard to get because I'm sure that any of those older acts who recorded those records would have given their right arm to perform at an event like that. If their records are good enough to play, then why aren't they good enough as an act to perform at the event. They certainly would have been more appropriate for the occassion since the type of music they made was the purpose of the occassion to begin with....a party. Andy is a four letter word.

Every ball is different with its own performers. Although the Obamas attended the 10 official balls, there are prolly 30 more held from Saturday to Tuesday, and they have all kinds of acts. Dionne's ball, which was cancelled featured some older acts and I bet the other ones did too.

I don't know if it was just me, but it looked like Obama was getting a little tipsy at some of the later balls. His speech at the last two seemed a little slurred to me. I'm sure he probably had a glass of champagne at each one of them. Andy is a four letter word.

That's what really made me think he was tipsy because I dance better when I'm tipsy. And when he would walk off the stage, I thought I detected a little pimp in his walk at the later balls. My favorite was at the end of the night. MSNBC went to one of their reporters outside the White House. They said the Obamas had been home for about 10 minutes and told them not to shine the light all up on the house because the two girls were already in bed. Then they went inside and started turning off lights. I did notice that one or two lights were still on. I can imagine what they were in there doing. It was their first night in the White House and there has never been a black First Family before. I bet they broke those White House beds in. Andy is a four letter word.

And the funny thing about it is, the next time there is a Republican president, you know they couldn't stand the thought of black folks being in that bed but they wouldn't get rid of it because it's historic. They would just have to live with it. Andy is a four letter word.
