That's Just The Way It Is Alright...so I'm sitting here...packing my bags for my road trip to our Nation's capital...when my only son...the one I named after the two most influential men in MY life...called me out of the blue.
For those that don't know, his name is Marcolm...give it a moment or two to marinate...you'll figure it out! Anyhoo, he's 22 and he's out living well on his own in Ohio. My favorite part of this whole past election season...is how my baby (he'll ALWAYS be my baby!) would call me to discuss Politics. He called me tonight...to check on me because he talked to his sister and she told him that I haven't been feeling my best lately. I've been ill but I'm getting better with each passing moment. While we were talking...he reminded me of something from his childhood. He remembered a song that I used to play to death. It's a song that my only son just told me...made him believe that there is something called...Change! That song was "Changes" by Tupac Shakur So this is dedicated to my baby, Me and anyone else that believes and knows in their heart that after Tuesday...things will NEVER be the same!

I just woke my son up because I needed to talk to HIM...again! That's a good mother's prerogative!
In his tired and sleepy state...he said, "Mama! Whatever it is that you want to do...I'm here to look after you!" I may need his help and then again I may not...but knowing that it's there if I need it...made me feel that I could whoop Spiderman's ass and make Superman cry! If I don't do another damn thing...I know right now at this moment...I did what I was supposed to!  I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart. | |
