Kelis

did anyone get her first album Kaleidoscope...
If you didn't I think you missed out on something special.
Anybody have that album? What did you think of it?

I LOVE IT

I added Protect My Heart and Flashback to it...

it's one of the Neptune's best. I mean, you can hear they were young and full of ideas. this album is 10 years old now...

back when Kaliedoscope was released
I was a heavy AOLer then...
and I was in a music chatroom
bashing the hell out of "Caught Out There"
so this one user is real persistent
in trying to get me to listen to her album

turns out he was a rep for Virgin records
and sent me a promo copy in the mail
I wanna say I got it that next day

heard "Get Along With You"
and was blown away
then I got to "Game Show" and eek

the style of production the Neptunes
were using just sounded so FRESH at the time
(and still does)

I was a STAN from that day forth smile

if you like Kaliedoscope
you should like all of them

Kelis Was Here took a lil
extra effort to grasp...
but overall all of her albums are nice

Wanderland being my favroite
without a doubt
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

Interestingly enough I've been bumping my Kelis playlist this weekend. I put it on shuffle and I honestly can't tell which songs are from which album without really thinking about it with the exception of maybe Kelis Was Here. No one does music like Kelis. I hope she gets back to recording soon.

Wasn't she dropped from her record label?
