Oh, the drama of this song! I think I prefer her vocals now compared to then. I think her voice sounds a little higher today.

Never been fond of the Phill Spector-produced cut. I enjoyed the later version of much MUCH better....



And might I add, more soulful!!!!

Oddly enough, I prefer her voice back then, she gave it to you RAW. After splitting up with Ike, her vocals started to get more polished, so to speak.

AKA, the Ike-Turner produced 1969 version with her singing with more soul. nod
