Looking for albums which have the MPLS Sound I'm looking for more albums that have the MPLS Sound.
I know the associated artist stuff like The Time , Mazarati, Vanity etc, I'm thinking more about bands like Ready For World, Cameo in the 1980's etc Any suggestions

Check out any Jam and Lewis-produced album during the 1980's. Especially Control. The SOS Band, Cherelle, Alexander O'Neal, the list goes on and on. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
Props will be withheld until the showing and proving has commenced. -- Aaron McGruder

You should check out The Neon Romeoz EP. You can get it on Itunes.
It's from 2008 but sounds straght out of 1985, They really remind me of Mazarati. The linn Drum, the upfront bass, the synths and the guitar, it's all pure MPLS Sound.

Of course anyone remotely associated with Prince... The Time, Morris Day, Vanity 6, Jesse Johnson, Andre Cymone (more New Wave though)
By Way of Jam & Lewis... 80's Janet, Cherelle, Alexander Oneal. S.O.S. Band... latter some New Edition, Johnny Gill A ferw other groups had sounds which weren't too far off the MPLS sound.... Mint Condition, Ready for the World, The Jets And then you had the groups which may not have been really Mpls sound... but were still doing some funky stuff which had a similiar vibe ( alot of sel;dom remembered gorups here)... Tone, Tony, Tone'... Full force... Lisa Lisa and Cult Jamm... Troop... 4 x 4.... And a lot of Teddy Riley's 'New Jack' music has a similiar vibe because he took a lot from what Prince and Jam & Lewis was doing and put it into his sound. [Edited 1/17/09 1:36am]

George Clinton's "The Cinderella Theory". And by the way, that doesn't mean it's good.

DeBarge has a lot of MPLS sound, especially in their uptempo songs.
