"Spell" by Deon Estus---I finally found the song I've been looking for!! (Thanks,Youtube)

For 20 years,I've been trying to figure out who sings this song!! I remember hearing it in 1989....it's a smooth midtempo song with an Earth Wind and Fire vibe.I even started a thread about it,asking you guys if you remembered a song with these words in the chorus...

You've got me under your spell....say you will be my girl

None of you knew what I was talking about lol But I searched around on Youtube and I finally found it.The song is called "Spell" and it's by Deon Estus

music music music music I love Youtube!! lol

some info from wiki

Deon Estus (born Jeffery Deon Estus) is an American bassist and singer, best known as the bass player of Wham! and as George Michael's bassist on all of the latter's subsequent projects.

In 1989, Estus released a solo album entitled Spell, produced by Colin Campsie & George McFarlane, with several tracks produced by George Michael. Released before the album, the single "Me or the Rumours" reached #15 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts in 1988. In 1989, the album's title track hit #11 on the Adult Contempory charts. The album also scored a #5 Billboard Hot 100 single "Heaven Help Me" with George Michael supplying backing vocals. It peaked at #3 on both the Adult Contemporary and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The album itself ultimately reached #89 on the Billboard 200 and #44 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.

Estus recorded two albums with Brainstorm as a teenager, scoring a hit with "Popcorn." He toured China with Wham!, performed at Rock in Rio, and with George Michael on his Faith tour. He also played with Marvin Gaye, Tina Turner, Frank Zappa, George Clinton, Annie Lennox, Edgar Winter, Aaron Neville, and Elton John. He most recently produced and co-wrote songs for aspiring singer Julie Anne, who boasts a five-octave range.

Estus was born in Detroit and was graduated from Northwestern High School in 1974. He sang second tenor in the choir at Northwestern under the direction of Mr. Brazel Dennard. His bass teacher was the late James Jamerson of Motown's The Funk Brothers.

Dude, I wish I had seen that thread! I could've told you it was by him. I've been jammin' to "Heaven Help Me" by him for the past few months, for some reason. I'm really feeling the lyrics. wink
