I could not get into Towa Tie. Maybe Boosty Collins was the reason 4 their success?

Bootsy was simply a guest. I doubt many knew who he was at the time...as his time had clearly passed. Besides he only had very few lines...I think Q-Tip had more. I think the song was simply successful on it's own and thus made them successful. The song was (as well as they were) very playful and went number one all over the place. I don't think Bootsy had anything to do with that.

Lol.....u have no idea who was holding down the GROOVE do u.....

Nobody is saying Bootsy didn't contribute and that he was valueless but don't be cutting down the value of the group itself! chair

lol.....I really was not happy about that group breaking up. That said, anyone who thinks that Bootsy was a minor player in this group is DEAD wrong.

I need to find their albums

thanx for jogging my memory
when it comes time to sync new music
my mind goes blank on what I need

They only have a few..

World Clique
Infinity Within
Dewdrops in the Garden
Sampledelic Relics and Dancefloor Oddities (remix comp I really recommend)

If you like them, you should chevck out Towa Tei's solo material. Future Listening is a must have for any music collection.

stanx! biggrin

Excuse me. they are more than just Groove is in the heart. far as I can tell Bootsy had nothing to do with Dewdrops and that album is absolute genius.

bootsy did contribute quite a bit to their funk sound and he was also bassist in their touring band. i'd hardly say he was THE secret formula behind deee-lite's success, but he was certainly an ingredient.

I remember seeing them at the Rivera up north and they threw down!!!

I was there. Had a terrible time at the concert cuz the BF was being a doof.

I do. Like I said he was part of it all, but it was mostly towa and dimitri who put it all together. Honestly I think Lady Kier's was the one was what held the ground for them.

Nor was he on the second album. He was only on the songs "Try Me On... I'm Very You," "Smile On," "Groove is in the Heart," and "Who Was That?". 4 out of 12 songs doesn't indicate a major player on the album. Nor was he only on one song. That said, he really was not instrumental to their sound or success. IMO, Towa probably had the most musical influence as he was the most musically tallented of the three.
