Lipps Inc, Ineep & Freeez - Old Skool Electro!

I've been getting my clasic electro on lately. I've gotten rare albums by Indeep (last night a dj saved my life), Lipps Inc (funkytown) and Freeez (I.O.U). Never actually knew much about these groups as I know they are mostly regarded as one hit wonders but their other music was quite good outside of the hits. Lipps Inc are from Minneapolis as I just found out and my girl from Ta Mara and the Seen (an org fave band) was also in the 2nd incarnation of the group after the origianl singer left. Anyone here like any of these groups??

Here is another thing about Lipps Inc. The band that played demo for, "Funky Town", contained members of what would become, The Time.

I love all three of those groups. Are you sure that you are getting albums from Indeep and Freeeze? If so, they are rare because I thought they only released 12 Inch singles.

I got one album by Freeez. It's called 'Southern Freeez'

Been awhile since I last spun it, but as far as I remember, it's pretty good.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Lipp Inc's debut album 'Mouth To Mouth' is one of my favorites headbang One of the best disco albums ever! "Rock It" is a relentless JAM and "All Night Dancing" is my favorite track on the album.

I'm sure you've heard it but don't realize you've heard it. Have you ever heard "Whomp There It Is" by Tag Team. That song (the original version, not the remix) sampled Kano's "I'm Ready" all the way through it.

I borrowed the 12 Inch from a DJ friend of mine and burned it on a CD. I have all the other tracks from that compilation except for the last track by Sweat Band. I'm wondering if it's an ass shaker. I've seen the compilation in the store but I don't want to buy it just for one song. lol

Save your pennies. It's a good compilation, but I wouldn't buy it for that one song.

I bought it because I didn't have Kano, Set It Off and a few others. If it makes a difference, it is wonderfully mastered. Rhino does a good job (to me) remastering their compilations.
