I realized something about modern music tonight. I've got the American Idol auditions on in the background and hearing these kids try to sing it dawned on me.
The reason most of them are such total shit is that they listen to and are singing music that is so processed and computerized they try to replicate those sounds with their voices. None of them can hit an accurate note because they're trying to add the flat note to their voice instead of letting the computer put it in. Crap in, crap out. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

I've noticed that heavily with singers in this decade, primarily female ones. I caught myself doing it sometimes but not often. If I sing differently like artists in the 70's and 80's, people don't get it and think I'm shaky when I'm vibrating or that I'm not phrasing my words like r&b singers of the 90's when they overdid it. I think a lot of people's phrasing on american idol remind me of a christina or kelly clarkson type voice, and I noticed it too when my school had their idol audition, everyone sounded like britney or christina with a touch of whitney and I sounded different and was told to explore jazz, blues or broadway.

When I was my H.S. chorus class, the first thing that my teacher told me was. "Do not sing with the radio". He said, people are always trying to sing with the person on the radio. What happens is that you end up imitating them and not singing. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Yes good point, but also, the kids are trying to emulate Mariah's singing which is bad as well. ![]()
