This is why i get so F******Mad at "established" artists......Lionel Richie "Just Go" featuring AKON!!!

Alright enough of this bullshit already Lionel. This is the other new song being released form his 2/17 release called "JUST GO" which has me saying, Just go away. Lionel, whats going on man?? Not only is this bullshit, but Lionel is singing in the "Akon" way too! The other song Lionel debuted from the new record, i heard a few times and i have no idea what its called, but its more of the same "slick production, ne-yo like" ballad with a midtempo beat.

I know peeps are holding out for that Commodores reunion, and lionel is still talking about it, but i for one HOPE it never happens, and the reason, the fear that they will do "Machine Gun" featuring T Pain. I have no issue with duets and things like that, but these established ARTISTS need to bring the others up to their level, not lower themselves to the lesser artistic level.

I ain't buying his album, I made the mistake getting "Coming Home" for Christmas. Most boring album I ever heard. I thought there'd be better songs than "I Call It Love" but there wasn't. neutral

What is Lionel trying to do? Appeal to ..... ?? Does he feel the teen crowd is going to get into him now as he is pushing 60? Is that the audience he is thinking about? I think Nicole Richie has more sense at this point.

Thank You! That album was a major letdown, and the blame goes on everyone from Lionel, to Ne-Yo to yes Raphael Sadiq, who really did poor work on this album, a HUGE letdown from him

What was Raphael's problem on that album? His tunes were not what I expected either, lol.

And the saddest thing this nearly 60-year-old man with roots in R&B, pop and funk music is trying to be hip doing songs with Akon. Reminds me of a certain 50-year-old who like Lionel is also a former MOTOWN artist. neutral lol

Yeah i dont really get it, is it just to cash in? I mean really is that what it is? And in this day and age of music and selling, who is cashing in on anything except artists signing exclusive deals with walmart. I refuse to believe that Lionel going into a new record said, "i have to work with Akon" im sorry but i REFUSE to believe that is a possibilty, even if he says it, i still wouldnt believe him

Oh no, not Lionel too! Honestly, I think artists like Lionel, MJ and others need to stop trying to cater to young audiences. These younger audiences don't care about older artists for the most part so I just think it's pointless when artists like Lionel work with these young, trendy artists to try to appear "cool" and to show that they are up with the times. Yeah I understand they want to update their sound but there are other ways to do that than selling out by working with "artists" like Akon. It really just comes across as desperate to me. Lionel is much better than that.

Are you serious? What the hell is going on? This is sad all around because either these veterans think these new cats are actually good OR the veterans are so desperate to key in to the youth market they'll do anything.

Not all collabos are bad and not all the new artists suck but really... Lionel and Babyface need to go sit in a corner somewhere.

I doubt it's for money, he's got like a million dollars annually off of songwriting royalties.

It really makes me question Lionel's overall "chops" and having it, and his judgement. Its even more troubling that this master of the "ballad" cant even put a proper ballad together anymore, everything now is slick and midtempo, oh lionel.

And i even tried to give this song a chance despite seeing that dredded four letter word AKON! It starts almost like a fast temp "Penny Lover" but then we get Lionel singing in AKONISH tone, im thinking, please kill the commodore reunion NOW!

'Can't Slow Down' was truly the last great Lionel Richie album.I haven't bought any of his solo albums that came after.I'll just wait patiently for the Commodores reunion.I pray that it won't involve any hip hop guest stars.

I heard a song on the radio a few times that sounds like lionel.
It says tell her good morning throughout the verse. It sounds like
a neyo/stargate production. I'm wondering if that is lionel.
I thought about checking out lionel's coming home because i do like
i call it love but the second single didn't move me but based on
my fellow NWO soul man timmy 84 i think i'll steer clear of this one.
I thought lionel was getting soul back. lol
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

It's probably not these artists fault, but the record company. Music nowadays have become more commercial like Christmas. Its about the benjamins and not talent, anymore. Either you play ball with them or get out of the game.

Does every established artists have the money or is business savvy enough to go independent? If not, then if they want to cut another record, they have to play along or stay out.

Most of them especially in the contemporary R&B field don't write and produce their own material. Lionel ain't got no excuse. lol
