Don't Be Cruel is clearly better IMO. The title track is better than anything NE ever recorded -- the clear pinnacle of the LaFace catalog IMO. Add in "My Prerogative" and the victory is already won without even having to mention great tracks like "Roni," "I'll Be Good to You," "Every Little Step," and "Rock Wit'cha." I do love Heartbreak, but, as someone mentioned earlier, there's too much filler. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Now I think the same way about Cruel It get's you going in the begin'n, but it loses me towards the end... The song itself is a jam tho', but as a whole....nah N.E.!!! Heartbreak!!! Even the remixes were tight!! [Edited 1/14/09 20:18pm] [Edited 1/14/09 20:49pm]

Good comparison. I love both albums, "Heartbreak" is my fave album by N.E. and "Can You Stand The Rain" is one of my fave songs ever, definitely my fave song by N.E. and I actually prefer it over any Bobby B song actually. "Don't Be Cruel" overall is more consistent though and I pretty much like every song on there, hardly any filler. I gotta go with "Don't Be Cruel" overall. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always
