Robyn (the rich man's Lady GaGa...or someone betta than GaGa) - KEEP THIS FIRE BURNING (Live)

Before GaGa there was my beloved Robyn.

Re-version of Robyn's classic 2002 track, covered by Beverly Knight (that woman that screechs on one of the songs of 21 nights)

Robyn rocks immensely - it's hard to believe the yea high girl from this city is such an accomplished live artist - I recently saw a recording of her live gig in LA from May of '08 (from which that video is) and it was BITCHING! I'm probably more proud of her than of any artist that has yet to make it internationally. worship

I LOVE ROBYN!!!!!

I was lucky to see her open for Madonna in Lisbon. I was the only person in the golden circle that knew robyn's song...so I acted like a bitch and sang my ass off.

Such a beautiful little woman, she's been doing her own thing since the wee age of 14 touched
Want to know something you probably didn't before now? The early bitter songs are about an ex of hers, I was friends with this guy's older brother. My sister dated the ex before he got with Robyn. nod He's really not that bad of a guy, he just couldn't handle her fame. shrug

She has a darkness in her lyrics that is very seductive. Also she was worked with great musicians and producers. And she does her thing with her own label.

The only regret I have is that she re-recorded Bum Like You. The original swedish album version (alternative rock sounding) is far superior to the electronic version.

Actually, I LIKE that she's going electronic - I feel it suites her better but that might also be my taste in music that shines through.
How you feel about her rendition of "Jack U Off?" biggrin

I like it. It's very daring for her to do it. Very Saloon style. And I am still surprise that Prince allowed it. And the fact it a non-single cover really made me smile. The girl knows her Prince-

Robyn's was one of the years BESTEST and freshest albums. She should've been nominated for A LOT more Grammy's.

I had no idea she's covered it - put her album on, but i was drifiting in and out of sleep (not a reflection of the record u understand), and thought i was dreaming her version of Jack U Off - very weird. It was a nice nod to him anyway.
