I don't understand why you are making this a Madonna v. Cyndi thing. Many people like both. They're different but both talented. If you go to a Madonna forum, you will see tons of people praising Cyndi's last album.
Also, I looked at a Cyndi forum once and most of her fans like Madonna. It just seems there's one crazy Cyndi fan here who hates Madonna If you want someone to like your favorite artist, the way to go is to tell people positive things about that artist, not by putting Madonna down. All you accomplish is turning off the people who happen to love Madonna. It doesn't win Cyndi any more fans. I happen to love Madonna, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate other artists who may happen to sell less records than she does. The reason I love Madonna is not because of her great success, but because I genuinely enjoy her music. | |

Madonna thing because it degrades Cyndi, but unfortunately, you vampire fans are only focusing on Madonna as usual. Still, at least a lot of people have seen the interview now, which was the purpose of the thread anyway. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Why is it necessary to have to put one artist down to big another up - i dont get that mentality, and it happens alot on this forum. Im hesitant to say its bitterness as i sense a degree of playfulness in it - but sometimes you'd be hard pushed to call it anything other than some kind of obsessive bitter attitude towards madonna, or the people who like her which i feel is even more negative. | |

Change of Heart is a great song. The only thing I don't like is the production. What's the point of writing a beautiful song if you're gonna whack a big, ugly '80s snare drum all over it. ![]() “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Just thought I'd share this little dream of Madonna's about Cyndi. I think it comes from her Sex book, and Lord does it show how HOPELESS Madonna's literary works are. Anyway, I don't know what the intention of writing this was, but in her dream/nightmare Madonna imagines her boyfriend cheating on her with none other than Cyndi. This is just an excerpt. If anyone has the full story, maybe they can share it with us. On second thoughts, maybe not, as Madonna's juvenile twitterings can only be stomached in small doses. Here it is.....
----- And I see that he's fucking somebody and I'm horrified. It's this little blond chick. So I pull him off of her and I notice that it's Cyndi Lauper, So I pull him off and I said, "You disgusting pig! How could you f*ck somebody? And most of all, how could you f*ck Cyndi Lauper?" “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I like cyndi - i think she was unfairly overshadowed by Madonna in the 80's.
But this midnightlover character's hatred for Janet is a bit worrying. | |

Yes, it's something that a teenager would probably say. But at 34, Madonna was probably still a teenager mentally. After all, she's - what? - 50 now?...and she's still running around like a 30- year-old. U must understand that everything that Madonna says and does is for a purpose. That's how she's managed to stay at the top for so long, with so little talent. I highly doubt that she actually had the dream in question, she obviously wanted to raise eyebrows...and she did. It's no more a choice than her being an awful singer is a choice. Prince and David Bowie used to like to shock people too, but for the most part they weren't childish about it. They did it with some imagination. Madonna is just a bad writer. One would have to be extremely underdeveloped to find her little story funny. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
