Madonna's career from now on: what do you expect next?

She's over with WB, but I guess they will milk from her as much as possible.

So? What's next? hmmm

I suposse there will be a new DVD this year with her Sticky & Sweet tour.
A new collection by WB (GHV3)? Hope it's not as bad as V2...

Remixes??

Any idea if Live Nation will make her record new music???
Or will she start doing live shows only???

Hope to get The Virgin, The Blond Ambition and the Reinvention Tours on DVD someday...
cool

Any thoughts, ideas...

Yeah, there will definitely be new music.I think her LiveNation deal is a 3-album deal. It's expected that the first album will be released in 2010,followed by another tour. It'll be interesting to see how her new music is marketed and promoted.I think things will be done alot differently than what we saw at Warners.

i think her releases will slowly become less and less popular, a la janet jackson.

i think the days of reinvention are over. she will probs continue to get hotshot producers to do all the work and make her some music and she will put her boring 50year old voice on the tracks, and people will lose interest.

her arms will get more and more grandma-esque, as will the rest of her.

I've read in some sites (including a a trustworthy brazilian fansite) that she's extending the S&S Tour next year..going back 2 London 2 do some Arena concerts and then Asia and oceania..it's not officially confirmed, but the information seems 2 come from the concert's crew. I know she never did this b4...but now that she had 2 pay big money 2 her x-hubby...anyway if she does it, she's changing her ways a little bit already

News about the Sticky & Sweet DVD are starting to come in. Our friends from MadonnaOnline Brazil informs us that Universal Music will be distributing the dvd, produced by Live Nation.

A tentative release date has been set approximately for March 2009.

MadonnaTribe has also heard from its sources that at the moment the dvd for the Sticky & Sweet Tour Live is being prepared as a Double Disc Release.

Previous reports also suggested Madonna's last Greatest Hits compilation owed to Warner Music is also scheduled for a release in the first quarter of 2009.

I'm not really excited about the greatest hits CD (I'm sure Warners will screw it up somehow) but I can't wait for the 'Sticky and Sweet' tour DVD/CD set.

Yeah I heard these rumors too.I think it's a great idea. She should switch things up a bit.tweak the setlist a bit and scale back a little....you know, give the show a slight makeover for the summer. It would also be cool if she released a new dance single around this time...a "teaser" single to keep fans happy until the next CD comes out..

and they say more in the brazilian website...it seems that this dvd will be highly promoted and it will have a lot of extras. And 4 the next releases they'll check the market and choose the best label 2 distribute the records. Apparently through P&D contracts, like Prince did with Musicology and 3121.

Exactly! Remember when Madonna would always release a soundtrack song, usually when she was between albums? ("Die Another Day"...."I'll Remember"...."This Used To Be My Playground"...."Into The Groove").She should go back to doing that.

I was actually thinking "Beautiful Stranger" in 1999. That was pretty much perfect timing for me.

well, so they say. As I said it's a trustworthy fansite (like madonnatribe). But, it's not official. It makes sense though. I don't think that Line Nation has structure 2 distribute something in an worldwide scale.

People can say whatever they want about Hard Candy.. I was actually amazed with the distribution. You could buy it pretty much anywhere.

2009:
March: Sticky and Sweet Tour DVD (there are rumours it will be very promoted and we may have a video for exapmle of The Beat Goes On)
April: W cover
Autumn: Greatest Hits CD (last with Warner)
Across The Sky on Timbalands new lp
2010:
New lp and eventually new tour.

I expect her to become more serious with her music. She ll probably work again with Pat Leonard and they ll create magic as always smile Of course we d get more dance music. I d be glad if she works with Stuard Price again.
I love Hard Candy, but I m not sure if another collaboration with timberland would be a good idea (though Devil is the best song on HC). She may use Pharrel though.

Maybe WB? razz wink

Somehow the idea of a Madonna album being exclusively available at Walmart leaves me neutral ...

During the Sticky and Sweet tour, several fans got to talk to Guy Oseary (M's manager) and they asked him about the Re-Invention Tour DVD.He promised that "we're working on it".At this point,I've lost interest but if it is released,I'll get excited all over again...lol

I'd like to see her do a dark, serious album.'Confessions' and 'Hard Candy' mostly consisted of fun,dance/pop music without alot of truly serious lyrics. Now that she's got it out of her system,I want a deep, introspective album. It doesn't have to be a big,sad "divorce album",filled with songs about regret and heartbreak...lol...I actually want the music to remain fun and upbeat, but with deeper, darker lyrics this time...maybe a few ballads as well?

Sounds great. I think most of the fans expect at least 2-3 straight out ballads this time (unlike Forbidden Love 2005 which was a "dance ballad") ala You ll See, I ll Remember etc...
I think there were some dark and deep moments on COADF (Isaac, Like It Or Not, Forbidden Love etc.) and Hard Candy (Devil, Voices etc). But you are right the mood overall was light, fun...

I agree that I hope the next album has deeper more introspective lyrics and a few ballads.
I've always wanted her to incorporate some rock and electric guitar sounds into her music, so maybe she could try that as well.
It will be interesting to see how her new music is promoted by Live Nation. Has Live Nation released or promoted cd's by any other artists?
I know some artists when they leave major labels find it difficult going and lose their profile as far as promotion and radio airplay and regret leaving a major label. I hope that doesn't happen to Madonna, and hope Live Nation has some creative promotion ideas. But this is uncharted territory so I do worry a little if this will be good for her.

Im expecting lots of speculation and lots of disapoointment for 2009. There are a number of things they could release this year to really keep the fans entertained:

Sticky & Sweet DVD
Final WB Greatest Hits (inc new track)
Warner Bros Box Set
Blond Ambition DVD
Like A Prayer 20th anniversary remaster
ReInvention DVD
Music Video DVD Box Set
The Virgin Tour DVD
Photo Coffee Table book Retrospectives with Meisel, Ritts etc (a personal wish of mine)

It remains to be seen whether the LiveNation contract will give her a new lease of life or whether she'll use it as an excuse to get lazy. one would expect her to give Live Nation a brilliant, edgy first album. Its been too much of the same since Music in 2000. She needs to take 2009 to sir back and decide where her career needs to go from here. Whil i love her dance music - id like to see her do something with a little more soul and warmth.

Releasing BAT & RIT DVDs in the same year when the DVD of the biggest solo tour ever is released is fat chance. As long as Madonna keeps going on, these old stuff will always pushed behind by more current projects.

I do think many fans are going to be disappointed with the first LN album because they are waiting for some kinda revelation, maybe another LAP or ROL. I don't think she's gonna stray away from fun music, but of course she'll have a new sound, just like her previous two albums sound nothing alike (is that what you acll "too much of the same? confused).

Personally, I'm sure first LN album will be the long awaited rock-influenced album. We can't ignore all those guitar stuff from the latest tour. I also think it's gonna be commercial and not an American Life to make sure people go and see her next tour.

I think her current album deserved to sell way more than it did, it was the best album of 2008.

I don't know if she'll become serious, not with those new pictures! She's going to take advantage of being free and single again and continue being a sexy cougar

She plans to release the Greatest Hits and S&S DVD for a spring release.

I guess she'll promote both things at the same time... But only a few interviews will be done

She said she plans to direct a new movie in spring

Of course she'll release new music. She HAS to.

In fact I think she'll move to NY and will become more crazy and pretends to be as young as Lola...

Her next album will be commercial as well. Simply because she wants to provide a commercial successful album to Live Nation!!

greatest hits later this year and probably a new album to get one under her belt on the new contract. probably a tour for the new one.

i think she'll continue to dabble in producing and directing films, to varying response.

i think in the next 2 years we'll hear about (or even see) a new, high profile movie role.

i think her next album will be a dance album, but in more of a rock vein.

i imagine it'll be career-spanning, considering it'll be the last hurrah with WB. and she doesn't yet have a completely satisfying one. immaculate collection came closest, for it's time, but but even there, the fact that every song is slightly (or vastly) remixed kind of throws it off.

i'm hoping there's a 3-disc deluxe version, just so that it can include all of the major high points and doesn't skimp on any era.
