She really can sing live ...just wish she would up the quality of her songs as she could produce a better quality CD far better than what she done since 2005... sad

I will say I honestly thought she did well. Because of the atmosphere of the ball and the party vibe was different than previous ones she fit in.

The only cringe-worthy moment was her interview with Robin Roberts with her crying about it being the most important day or moment in her life.
"He makes me want to be smarter." Then maybe you should go back to school. She always makes me think of:

laaame. the truth is she just can't emote; she can't transcend human emotion; she's incapable of that - now answer this, how many of you seriously did she break through to with this performance of "at last"?

Okay, I'll give it to her she sounded good, despite the yoddlin' and overacting. Would I have preferred to see someone else more deserving/iconic? YES. But she did a good job. cool

Agreed, I don't know why so many people knock her. She can sing her ass off and looks fantastic...she can't act though so you can't accuse her of overacting!

I don't believe that anyone is knocking her performance or talent, just her exposure which I know can be discussed on another blog. Also, if she can improve on her singing, then she can improve on her interviews.

I agree, I think she did do a good job last night as well, she was more subdued and didnt oversing which I am glad of.

The only cringe-worthy moment was her interview with Robin Roberts with her crying about it being the most important day or moment in her life.

Yeah I saw that too lol I bet she wasnt that overcome with emotion when she performed at Bush's inaugural lol! I wonder if she felt the same way about Bush---did he make her want to be smarter too? lol

The whole spectacle is vomit inducing, it's all for the public. It's effective showmanship and it presses all the right buttons for evoking a positive/hysterical response for the masses. Brilliantly conceived, especially having someone contemporary like Beyonce involved. The other poster was right though, she cannot emote - her voice never gets into your soul.

Apparently. I think she dropped out in the 10th. Not even a little close to graduation.
