It sounds like the group as of today trying 2 play the hits from the 1970's. A waste of money.

I gotta admit, as great as they were from '77 to '84, the wheels really came off in the years after that...Arrington left to do his thing, Steve Washington, Curt Jones and Starlena Young left to form Aurra, lead Guitarist Marc "Drac" Hicks and Bassist Mark Adams left, came back, left, etc ....
they've never been the same since...not even close....

sad Sad but true--I saw them open for Bootsy a few years back, and it was pretty bad.....

Doesn't dimish what they did in their heyday, but yeah, its not even a shadow of what they used to be.....

It's a shame, because what I really used to love about Slave was the fact that they had such a raw funk feel at a time when alot of other funk groups were getting more slick and polished.....

for example, in 1978, when a lot of groups were hitting the disco, Slave was doing stuff like this:

Yeah you have to be careful when you buy some of these greatist hits cd's
from some of these classic artists. They will go in the studio and re record
the songs using a cheap drum track and completely F#$@ up the original songs.

I LOVE SLAVE!

Intro (usually as the first song), or Party Lites (as first song) are regulars anytime I get a chance to spin.
We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams.
