Good idea. Stop working for someone else and make their own way. Now if only Mariah would drop him. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I'm sure he'll follow Janet to whatever label she goes to next, just so he can continue screwing her career up

I remember when he and Janet left Virgin, and we were like "BYE!!! good luck!!!!!" i've said it many times before, and i'll say it again. as long as he's involved in her career, she's going to continue to become a non-factor. http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts

That way Janet can flop on an independent! They need seperate careers! Obviously, this is combination in not a successful team!

Janet left IDJ before her tour was over.
I'm glad JD got dropped. He needs to leave the record industry alone (on the business side anyway). He just needs to concentrate on writing and beats for others. I heard him say on his youtube channel that he was going to work with Usher again on his next project. I hope it turns out better than Here I Stand. That album is worse than his debut. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I always had a bad feeling about JD when I heard that they were dating and now look at what's happening. Janet's career is going to keep on sinking like the Titanic and it's a damn shame too. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

A lot of the producers and writers that he used he had already worked with. To me, all of the songs sounded like throw away tracks or b-sides. When I heard Love In This Club, I was like, how r u going to follow up Yeah with this BS? I think Benny Medina is the main reason that album sucked. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

jd never had no business messing with janet's career, he was never a fan of her music. i remember he dissed damita jo and claimed that 'dance music' was dead. his plan to change janet into this r&b/hiphop artist backfired.even though i liked alot of songs from 20 y.o i think it came out too soon and jd's running off at the mouth turned alot of her old fans off. damita jo wasnt a huge commercial success but it still went platinum, i think she should have laid low a little longer (discipline should have been her next release after damita jo), and she should have never let jd become her hypeman.the music industry is a mess these days and and realistically a 42 year old janet is not gonna have huge commercial success, but i think she could still make good albums for her core fans, which is who supported the damita jo project.

Any idea? All I know is that since he left Virgin, I haven't seen a So-So-Def project. They all got pushed back. Johnte Austin's project kept getting pushed back then they dropped it. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I think janet should have gone the sade route and done jazz. Her voice is so pretty, but r&b and dance does not present it well. She always had hints of jazz in some of her 90's music and baby making ballads, and if she practiced her high voice without cracking it would be a better genre for her. People don't like her right now cause she is not reinventing herself and just showing off her midriff, my friend said she likes her but she's too repetitive and madonna reinvents herself better and I have to agree. Madonna does not have 2 albums that sound alike IMO and is always full of surprises.
I think if janet did a mature album with jazzy blues sounds and smooth melodic vocals and the harmonies she always did, she'll gain a lot of respect back from the majority public. Her range works perfectly with that genre, kind of like Diana's voice.

Jermaine Dupri Fired From Island Records January 8, 2009 Link Jermaine Dupri is out as president of Island Records Urban Music division, a unit he ran for almost two years. The tenure of the Atlanta rapper-producer-mogul, which began Feb. 7, 2007, came to an abrupt halt Thursday. It is believed there is still time remaining on his contract with the Universal Music Group imprint. His time at the helm, though, was notable for several underperformers, specifically Jagged Edge's "Baby Makin' Project," and "Discipline," from Dupri's girlfriend, Janet Jackson, which sold only 428,000 copies. His ankling puts a question mark on Tag Records, the hip-hop label he oversaw that was a partnership between Island Def Jam and Procter & Gamble's Tag brand. Formed in April, the goal was to showcase Dupri and Tag artists across various Tag brand advertising and marketing initiatives. The label has released only one single, "On a Mission" by Q Da Kid, which featured Dupri. It has sold only 3,000 downloads. Dupri reported to Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid and president Steve Bartells. They created the urban division shortly before Dupri came aboard. Dupri, who started as a teen producer and owner of the independent label So So Def, has been active as a performer, writer, producer and industry pro for more than a decade. He was president of the Atlanta chapter of the Recording Academy, a post he quit after accusing the org of not sufficiently supporting Jackson after her breast-baring incident at the 2004 Super Bowl. For a minute there, I almost thought you were talking about Janet Jackson. Since it can't possibly be her no singin' behind, don't leave me in the dark. Which Janet are you talking about?
