I wanted to have Adore be the first husband/wife dance at my wedding, but my wife objected because there is a swear in it (it is very unrecognizable, somehow she got a hold of a lyrics sheet). We ended up using this exact song as our first dance. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...

The "organ player" they say wrote the songs is none other than Rod Temperton....who wrote Thriller among other classics

I couldn't stand it either when I was little. But now, it's not so bad....I guess. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

This song has lost it's shine for me, over the years. I guess it because, they radio stations play too damn much! Great song though. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I agree. This is a fantastic song but it's overplayed.I think I hear this song more often than I ever did in 1977!

One of the best slow jams ever. Andy is a four letter word.

We ended up using this exact song as our first dance. I always like to play "Adore" immediately following the live version of "Reasons" by Earth, Wind, and Fire. When "Adore" first came out, I immediately thought of "Reasons" and the two go together really well like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Andy is a four letter word.

...
Although it probably gets the award for Most Overplayed Slowjam Song in The ENTIRE Universe, I still dig this tune, and it was nice seeing it performed live! Rod Temperton is still a hellafied songwriter! ... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout
