She was OK but she was too tame. I was hoping she would do some of her hollering and turn the place out.

What you want her to do, roll around on the stage??? lol

Hell yeah. And change the song up. Speed the tempo up, have a live band behind her, and make it funky. Have the entire audience, including the stuffy ass Bushes, shaking asses all over the place. lol

i agree that she needs to cover those boys up for the inauguration. she could have fun with it! she should have little slide-on silk tuxedos made for each of her boobies, complete with little top hats and monacles. her brestisses could be her date!

thats hilarious!

You know it!

I would have made that inauguration all the way live. Instead of that stuffy ass classical orchestra that played, I would have had George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic perform "Chocolate City". And they should have waited until the end when George Bush was flying off in the helicopter, to do the 21 gun salute. evillol

I liked it. She did it beautifully. Though I wish she'd have sang it more in that deeper register whe went into every now and then. Because it sounded a little strained as she went into more of a head voice.
But fuck, Thats Re Re out there. You did you're thing mama. Good Job.]

And she looked cute, like a church mama. No spagetti straps, thank God, Buddha and Oprah.

Well Aretha's voice certainly isn't what it used to be, but she did a good job overall and she actually looked pretty decent lol. I was suprised.

naw, Gladys is weak.
Re-Re did the best she could - I mean the woman is 70. Gladys could Never belt it out the way Aretha used to.

I disagree. Gladys is a singer, whereas Aretha tends to over sing. Sometimes, I just wanna hear the song instead of going on a roller-coaster ride.

Both Gladys and Aretha are fabulous singers. Excellence vs. excellence... why choose? shrug

I like this scenario best. lmao.

And I LOVED the bow, better than the song actually. She did keep it pretty tame.

She's lost the top end of her voice, but there's still some magic there. When she started singing I was reminded how otherworldly her voice is. For all the distractions, Aretha deserved her success. In the music industry it's rare that you can say that.
