EW: most anticipated CD's of 2009

http://margeauxs-mix.ew.c...-im-l.html

Here are the top 10 albums I'm looking forward to in 2009, listed in no particular order.

1. Jay-Z
The Blueprint 3
Hov's 11th studio CD will also be his final album for Island Def Jam. (His next disc will be released by Live Nation.)

2. Kelly Clarkson
Title TBA
Rumor has it that her fourth disc will be a lot like her fantastic 2004 CD, Breakaway, and nothing like last year's disastrous My December.

3. Eminem
Relapse
Though I'm not a huge fan of his work, it'll be nice to hear from him again when his hotly anticipated comeback CD drops.

4. Maxwell
Black Summers' Night
I recently ran into Max at a holiday party and he swore to me that his long-awaited fourth CD will drop this spring or summer.

5. Lily Allen
It's Not Me, It's You
The album's not due out until Feb. 9, but the first single, "The Fear," is already getting heavy rotation on my iPod.

6. Keri Hilson
In a Perfect World
How many times is Interscope going to postpone this CD? Just release the damn thing already!

7. D'Angelo
Title TBA
There's no doubt in my mind that this CD is going to be well worth the exhaustive eight-year wait.

8. Missy Elliott
Block Party
The first single, "Ching-a-Ling," dropped a year ago...and we're still waiting for the album to follow.

9. Erykah Badu
New Amerykah, Pt. 2: Return of Ankh
The hip-hop soul mama has a new baby and another CD on the way in 2009.

10. Dr. Dre
Detox
Is this CD ever coming out? It's like Dr. Dre is the new Axl Rose and Detox is his Chinese Democracy.

EW has 70-90% shit taste in music.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Just what i was going to say, i only remotely care about 3 of these releases, 2 of the artists though have worn out my patience, and 1 of the 2 i doubt is even coming out so.

The Erykah is out next month, and Kelly Clarkson is in March. The rest are expected this year.

I believe the Maxwell will happen this year. Also, I heard D'Angelo would be out by the Fall.

I cant get into Kelly, she has an ok voice but that whole forced "rock" sound and im not really into any of the AI winners or runners up or really any of them, Katharine Mcphee is the only one i could at least listen to a full album of. Erykah is always an interest, but you never know with her. Im waiting more for the India Arie in February, and how did EW leave off SPRINGSTEEN and U2 and NO DOUBT and yet include Kerry Hilson, who is a carbon copy of everyone out there already just with worse songs.

And No offense JAY Z, but fuck the whole BluePrint shit, a "BluePrint" by definition is ONE, not volumes.

I'm looking forward to Maxwell and cautiously hopeful for Badu and D'Angelo.

She is obviously more of a R&B/Hip Hop fan. I can't really explain the Kelly Clarkson mention.....

i think EW is just trying to push her for whatever reason. i can't think of any other reason she'd be in a "most anticipated" list.

Well Keri better start looking elsewhere or something because the forecast is not good, Interscope is having issues and is famous for not being able to just release records. But its all in the way they are trying to package her, its all the same shit, they bring in the same producers, the same 3 writers, the same guest rappers, its like can we get a new formula??? I mean i would rather an opera album from Cassie at this point, then another RB/POP chick with a song produced by Timbo and Lil Wayne or Tpain on the track.

It was called FANOMENAL at the time

hmmm Was it a positive review? Looks like she completed an album last year, submitted it to a few media outlets and then decided to delay/re-tool it.That's usually not a good sign.

It didn't say it was her BEST album or anything. I think it made some comment about Timbaland, either his presence or his absence. See, it's been so long!

The title of the album was FANomenal, not the review. lol

I'm mildly interested in the new Maxwell, Lily Allen and D'Angelo albums. I'm anticipating the Spinnerette debut album (Brody Dalle) a hundred times more than those.
