Wendy O. Williams!

A friend recently got me to download her W.O.W album that came out in the 80's produced by Gene Simmons. I was reluctant because visually she has always scared me but I gave it a shot and it rocks. Some of her songs really rock! My faves are Bump and grind, I love sex and rock n' roll, and ready to rock. Any other Wendy O. fans out there??

I remember her as a member of...

...The Plasmatics. (sections may be NSFW)

Never heard any of her solo material.

Yeah, Butcher Baby...She would take a Buzz saw and cut up Guitars and a TV. She played the original RITZ and I believe a club called BONDS INTERNATIONAL CASINO. They always showed the Butcher Baby video. I was UPSET that she killed herself with a SHOTGUN...WONDER WHY? They said she was POSSIBLY SICK. I also heard she did PORNO? DID Ya know about that? She had an AMAZING Body. She reminded me of that EXERCISE GURU SUSAN POWTER...STOP THE INSANITY WOMAN a bit.

Yeah she was supposedly real sick from what I had heard and I remember Bond's International Its no longer there of course.

Interesting character but gawd their music sucked!

I could name a dozen female punk singers from the 70s who ate her alive. It was kind of annoying when she was on TV all the time and people went "oh I guess that's what punk rock is all about" while Poly Styrene, Lydia Lunch, Penelope Houston and others who were serious about their music, and genuinely radical, got totally ignored.

I HAVE ONE OF HER CD'S. THE ONE WITH THE GENE SIMMON'S PRODUCED SONG "It's My Life" on it. I loved that video. I think it came out in 1984. I remember seeing it late one night on the TBS overnight video show "Night Tracks".

I always dug Wendy and The Plasmatics. The 1st time I ever saw her was in that porno film. I think it was called "The Dong Show".

The "W.O.W" CD is pretty much a undercover KISS record. Gene told Wendy that he could make her a even bigger metal star if she would dump the Plasmatics and change her sound. Gene, Paul and Eric Carr play on some of the tracks and Ace did the crazy lead on "Bump And Grind".

Jean Beaviour and Micki Free I think co-wrote/played on one tune and there's one song by ex KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent on there too. She was a health/fitness nut and wasn't into the drug scene. I think it's been 10 years since she's been gone.
