daPrettyman said: Thanks for that site, Prettyman!! I love it already! Albert King and Koko Taylor were the two names that popped into my mind that night for some reason, but I appreciate most of the other blues artists that have been mentioned. Denise LaSalle lives in my old hometown (Love her!) and my cousin, Jay Butler has a great blues show on http://www.wdetfm.org/ in Detroit on Saturday nights 7-10 PM, EST. Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

Whilst we are on the subject of The Blues, and as I know we have some very knowledgable folk on here, I was wondering if any of you could recommend me some electric blues guitarists that are worth a listen.
I am going through a huge Gary Moore phase at the moment(his blues albums, not his rubbish 80's heavy rock nonsense!) and also picked up a Joe Bonamassa live album but I don't know where else to start. Maybe it isn't strictly "blues" as some of you guys would call it, but you know what I mean, right? I know a lot of names but not so much of their music - people like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Walter Trout, Rory Gallagher etc. Anyone got any good ideas for albums as starting points for these and similar artists? Even going back further, such as Cream/ Bluesbreakers and so on. This is not an exit

The only Blues album you'll ever need.... well, not really, but if you were never to buy another one, this would be the one to have. ::::: [Edited 1/9/09 14:11pm]
