Lisa Keith singing the Pleasure Prinicple

dancing jig

To be honest with you I never knew what Lisa Keith looked like until now. Has anyone heard her album with Jimmy & Terry? Shame on me for not buying it sooner or lookign for it.

From what I understood, Jimmy and Terry didn't have as much input into her album. From what I heard, it's more like the Amy Grant pop sound of the early 90's.

But Lisa is the girl. For me, she just as much a part of the Flyte Tyme sound.

Lisa's solo album was very pop. I know why they did it. It was for marketing reasons. It was hard to market a blonde to mainstream urban radio in 1990. Keith Thomas did most of the production and songwriting on the album. It's not bad, but it's not that good either. Here is the first single from the album, Better Than You. It did pretty well on the AC charts, if I remember correctly.

You're right. I do wish that she would have done more with Jimmy and Terry on her own cd. But, we know how the business is.

You know, her voice is on so many Flyte Tyme hits. She was on Alexander Oneal first 3 projects (st, Hearsay, and Christmas cd). She was on Cherelle's albums, Janet's, SOS Band, etc. When "Making Love In The Rain" came out, people were so shocked to hear she was caucasion. I thought after that song did well on the Urban charts, she would have a shot, but evidentally not.
