Looks like the quality of music will be better in 2009 if not the artist will be dropped....big names are under pressure as well.. biggrin

You pretty much can stratch off any of the RB Females, unless they release them on their own. The MYA record is really good, but its more of a Euro/Dance sound on alot of tracks, which is GREAT, but america cant really handle that. As for Teedra and Tweet, their best best is going Indie and putting out the cds on their own. If it isnt Beyonce, no one will play it or look at it in America.

falloff As far as i'm concerned, they can keep pushing back the album by Pretty Ricky..i'm sure it will sound like shit anyway

Didn't Joe just release an album in 2008?

Somehow, keri hilson just isn't interesting to me...

Teedra Moses....isn't she in good with Raphael Saadiq? Why can't she release it off of his label? or at least go independent? Damn thats sad, thats one album i have been looking forward to.

Damn Tamia can't even get a live album released? Sad.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yeah Pretty Ricky should not only be dropped from a label, they should be dropped off a cliff, i saw two of their videos, all i can say is, this is why RB is in the toilet. I feel the same on Keri Hilson, nothing there, the songs have the same boring HIP producers and she sounds like everyone else, doesnt anyone want to be different? Teedra is great, as is Tweet, they should just put the albums out themselves, or go into another market overseas, like MYA did, it has proven to be a big PLUS for her. She landed a number one album and single in Japan with "Sugar and Spice" album and "Paradise" single. But like i said alot of the album is too different for america and america cant handle anything out of the ordinary it seems

sad but true. i guess thats why the media calls the few people who do listen to the "different" music put out by artists the "cult followers" rolleyes whatever that means.

The first track on the new MYA is a track called "It must be the Music" which is a dance anthem, but if she brought that here no RB station would even look at it, and no pop station would either. Thats the problem, the radio stations here are so afraid to step out of the box that nothing in the mainstream can change.

Most people around here are waiting on Maxwell and D'Angelo.

Does anyone really care about the others mentioned in that article???

I ve given up on Maxwell and Dangelo at this point till they actually follow up on something, they are in the Lauryn Hill category at this point.

I would take Tweet,MYA,and Teedra anyday over Beyonce at this point, and its not because Beyonce is everywhere, its just because she isnt interesting, she has been doing the same songs for a decade now.

Disagree, Maxwell just had a very successful tour. I know his new music isn't here yet, but at least he was visible.

I know about the tour but the constant delaying and shelving of new music, im like just put the shit out, i mean in this economy and day and age, no one sells, so who cares.

Teedra's my girl. I really like her music. I've been hearing about the Lionness release for over a year now. What a shame. These artist really need to find another way.
