Coroner Report Confirms Dr. Dre's Son Died From Drug Overdose

http://www.eonline.com/ub...eroin.html

Doctors have weighed in on the death of Dr. Dre's son.

Twenty-year-old Andre Young Jr. died of an accidental overdose of heroin and morphine, according to a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office

The case was subsequently closed after the young man's death was ruled an accident.

Young's mother, Jenita Porter, found him unconscious in his bedroom in their Woodland Hills, Calif., home on the morning of Aug. 23. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Porter told authorities her son had been out with friends but that she heard him snoring in his room at around 5:30 a.m.

"Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family's grief and privacy at this time," Dre's rep, Lori Earl, said at the time.

How do they know it's accidental?
They can't.

If he was snoring at 5:30 am when did he take the heroin and morphine?
Was he unaware that they are they same drug? Maybe he thought he was mixing two drugs like heroin and cocaine with realizing he was double dosing.

Or he wanted enough to make sure it was a one way trip.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

What his mother heard tragically was her son's death rattle. Opium's are very dangerous and can be lethal when taken the first, second, third time. If your buying and using this stuff off the streets, you don't know what the heck you taking, how it's been cut or the purity of it. The New York Times reported a rash of teenagers/young adults across the county dying from taking prescription morphine. They weren't abusing the prescription.... it just the doses prescripted were too much and they slept on away from here.

You're missing the point genius. That's like comparing somebody that slits their wrists to somebody blowing their own head off. The point is that there were issues there that led to self-destructive behavior and ultimately death.

Ledger was an adult and it doesn't take a pharmacist to know that if you mix all of those drugs you're in for trouble. His death was no more of an accident than Dre's son's was (from what we know).

It's definitely tragic. I'm just saying morphine and heroin, how do you even get your hands on that?

Morphine's easy to get, a well connected drug dealer, has suppliers deep inside hospitals for that type of stuff.
thats how I (my former dealer) use to get my Codeine

I'm only claiming that on some level they both knew what they were doing could kill them. Whether it was what we call a conscious decision or not isn't the point. They both killed themselves and it was equally sad. neutral

It's a useless exercise trying to determine the degree to which they actually wanted to die. I'm not looking for an excuse to feel less sorry for one over the other.

Ok
when your downing deppressants and pain medicine, your trying to get by...
In hollywood, alot of people do it...
especially since Heath Ledger was Bipolar,
But when your doing non otc opiates like morphine... ok you may have somewhat of a death wish...
lord knows when i was speedballing, I wanted to die
but basically your trying to get high...

I don't condone drug use, prescription or non prescription
But i'm aware they are two entirely different sittuations
So don't go lumping them into the same pile

How does addiction depend on whether one is prescription or not?
It may affect the purity possibly but addiction is addiction.

Doing drugs to get high is doing drugs to get high regardless of whether they were prescribed or bought on the 'street.'
They are not two different situations.
One drug to get by and another to get high?
Are you abusing one and not the other?

People don't speedball because they are contemplating suicide . . .
Their situation may depress them and they use drugs to cope with reality, but people who get high to kill themselves tend to use alcohol and a car.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I don't see a difference .. except that one has easier access to it through a pharmacist..than the other..
