That's all a matter of opinion. I don't like him...never have. I have listened to 3 of his projects and he works my nerves after about 3 or 4 minutes. His high-pitched voice just makes my skin crawl.

While I really dig this cat, I can see where some would not. His voice sounds almost like a mature Munchkin would sound....or a smurf.

lol

That's a good way of describing it.

I don't really dislike Rahsaan, but his music gets abit redundant after awhile.

His 2 1st albums are good but the rest are hit & miss.

I don't know if it's been said but Amerie. I thought 1 Thing was going to blow her up to bigger success and now she's a one-hit wonder. I really dug her.

Rahsaan Patterson? No way. I can only take 10 minutes max of his nasal, whiney voice.

I feel the same way you do, but there are lots of people around the org that LOVE him. I can't stand him.

I second that too. He sounds no different from anybody else in R&B and I don't care for his songs either.

Another one would be Tamia. She got noticed for the Quincy Jones song "You Put a Move On Me" or something like that and she had some hits like "Stranger In My House" but she never became a household name. That's too bad too cause she can sing. nod

That's all music has ever been. He's got great vocal arrangements and his style is remniscent of Chaka. Good soulful voice.

He sang back-up for Chaka Khan at some point.

When you sing behind Yevette Stevens, you know you's a bad mofo nod

Preach! And I never knew he sang for CK. Cool shit. Thanks.

His 1st is off the hook. I was "cool" on his 2nd one. His 3rd was real nice. This latest one is just "cool".

Maybe not 'huge' but certainly bigger than what they currently are:

Amerie
Tamia
Deborah Cox
Shanice
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Amerie in my head is a huge star, but folks ain't seeing it.

Sometimes when someone is getting a lot of guest hook features, I expect that their solo careers will be as hot.

Billy Lawrence is one that was on a lot of Bad Boy hits, around 1997, but she never really achieved fame.

Hmm, yeah I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you on this one. Raheem and Bilal have two completely different styles. Can't really explain it but they do.

It all sounds like neo-soul (which I'm not a big fan of).

Well it sounds that way to u, but it all doesn't sound the same. Both of Raheem's albums are completely different from each other and Bilal's style is a tidy bit more soulful than Raheem's style. Bilal has more controlled voice than Raheem. I think both men have versatile singing styles that make them stand apart from one another...that is more than just being "neo-soul".
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I'm not disagreeing, I just don't get either of them. Their styles are similar to me.

I totally agree with a lot of people you have listed. Ruben Studdard should have been bigger on the r&b side, but his managers and record company didn't give him the right material, nor did they promote him properly. They were all hung up on his size and not his talent. Maybe he will continue to do gospel projects and be successful.

Trey Lorenz should have been HUGE!! I don't know what happened with him. I don't know if it was material, promotion, or what.

Keith Washington also had the total package. Looks, voice, and stage prescence. I loved all 3 of his albums. Maybe if he had stayed with the Quincy Jones camp, then he would have been bigger, but he ended up on MCA and was dropped so fast. I know he tried acting for a while. Maybe he didn't make it because of the process/wavey hair he had.

I don't agree about Adina Howard. She was banking on the stripper/whore image and that stuff never last.

I (kinda) don't agree with Ce Ce Penniston. She was not that great of a singer. Her material that Steve "Silk" Hurley did for her was amazing, but house music died and she didn't survive on the r&b side. Is she still performing? Last I saw her was on the reality show where has-beens appeared singing recent hits.

Maxwell is still popular, but all the glory is for his past which he hasn't lived up to. I thought that dude was gonna rule the universe when he first dropped lol If only he'd stayed on track...

I hoped Fantasia would have made better career decisions but she's putting out shit like everyone else...

Martin Luther - he deserves to be so much bigger than he is, I thought the flick would blow his shit up. Maybe there's stuff in the works, hopefully exclaim
