Eight and a half years, to be precise. The last time I saw him in concert was either in 2000 or 2001 and he gave a great performance. Don´t count him off yet. Ms PATTI LABELLE, whom to me is one of the greatest vocalist to ever walk the planet.. yet she has had very few #1 HITS..
Although she has a strong following.. she never crossed the barrier to superstardom! | |

I think alot of this has to do with the magnitude of Patti's voice.. and her being an African American woman. Yet Aretha Franklin who is a gifted artist but does not have anywhere near the vocal range as PATTI is still a much bigger Superstar. In my mind, Patti is a national treasure.
