yeah i heard that he made some of the demos off the Thriller album on piano. I believe he can play the piano michael is very talented.

I wish he would really release another album.

i can play chopsticks on the piano, but i'm no piano player. Til i see him, Michael can't play shit, he can beatbox like a champion though!

Same goes for the prince hypeologists, 27 instruments my ass. He plays enough and very well, but not that many.

Michael can play the piano. I heard the demo for shake your body, and boy was he playing that piano and SANGING.

he started off with the melody, "things i do for you" and then it lead to the song "shake your body"....

all of his demos he has played the keyboard or piano.

Randy, Tito and Jermaine are the main instrumentalists within the Jackson family. Michael imitates piano, bass, guitar and drum licks with his voice, doesn't mean he can actually do it tho. He can beatbox well tho. The only instruments I've seen Michael play are piano, drums and percussion. I'm sure he knows his way around it but he can't flaunt it like Prince or some of his brothers, lol.

No doubt MJ is talented. But I haven't seen anything that indicates he's a talented musician.

There was a brief shot of him playing piano in the studio on 'The One' TV special and DVD.He probably has a very basic understanding of it at least. Hell... Joey Ramone used to compose songs on a 2 string guitar!

I don't why it's so important to some people that MJ plays non-vocal instruments. With a voice like his, who needs to? He could record a whole song entirely with his voice. He's so uncannily good an imitating musical instruments. If he wanted to he could beat-box his next album and it'd sound amazing.

I believe Michael can definitely play the piano. I think Teddy Riley mentioned that, and there have been other hints. I think his voice is just so amazing, it made him a bit lazy about learning to play musical instruments. He can just make the sounds with his mouth...

When Martin presses him to demonstrate, he is no longer at the piano and he is dancing to Billie Jean playing on the monitors like it is Oprah's interview all over again.

I dont think he does, but that "i'll be there" pepsi ad still almost brings me to tears pretty much everytime I've seen it. Seeing Michael alone on is piano, seeing himself as a kid again, then it fades to him alone again. Its heartbreaking.

Michael Jackson has been apart of music since he was 5 years old, why is it so hard to believe he can't play the piano. So all of his bros can ply, he's just the only one who can't. I've never seen Tito play piano, Jermaine play drums, Randy play bass, Jackie or Marlon play anything, but I'm pretty sure they can play. Hell, I think Mike is a better musician than Jackie and right with Marlon.

From what I recall, Michael can play Piano, Guitar, And drums
all at about producer level...
He's a chord progression pianist, which is not a real pianist, you can learn to be one in like a month
Guitarist, I believe he's beginner level, Drums as well...

I can say he knows enough to compose a song...
For a singer all you really need to know is about chords and melodies
all that other fancy shit is really not needed...
IE take stranger in a moscow, which he wrote and programed...
the way its structured you can tell it was on the piano , which is why its kinda genius
MJ digs non diatonic chord progressions, meaning that the chords really have no specific scale to, he uses 5 diff major chords in SIM, yet their are only 3 chords limited to a major scale...
soo he's using sometype of non diatonic scale like a pentatonic and harmonizing wierd shit

Once again, it seems that some Prince fans are just looking for ways to discredit Michael and put him down. So what if he does or doesn't play piano? He is arguably the most famous person on the planet, and no albums will EVER get to the level that Thriller was, so this is really a silly argument.
