Yeah, Gladys` roxy album is good, especially her version of "I will survive" music

I recently received from my bro a spending-check for a musicshop and this Gladys album will be my top-purchase !

Great other adds i see posted here.
There are some cool scans of other Rosie-albums in the Org-gallery.

A lady with one album in the early 90's.
No soundclips so far of that album on Youtube.
But i found this recent one of her.
Cool track also :

Not shure if she has a new record-deal but here's her myspace with more cool cuts :

Donna Allen was another above average singer, but she deserved better material...

I like this song from 1999 though

Great party-track from Donna.
Yeah, some diva's went in the house-route during the 90's.
I think there were some good producers from the dance-scene who knew how to fit their vocals in these mixes.
Patti Austin and Stephanie Mills did some solid mixes with Masters At Work :

And MAW had their own latin diva, La India :

I've seen her once perform with her own band. She looks devine onstage.

Great tracklist and designed artwork !
i'm gonna check that one out too.

Seeing Carol Williams mentioned, i dig this funkjam of her as well :

Thanks also for the Tina Moore-clip. "At Last" is a piece of work to cover. I dig the string-arrangements and all ... great voice.
I saw pics of her published in music-magazines during the era that she had (i believe) a more major record-deal.
Also think she went totally in the house-route.

I have some of Dee Dee Bridgewater`s albums, including "Just family". The title track is one of her best songs. But "When love comes knocking" is gorgeous... mushy

I have most of Dee Dee's early work, but these 2 stand out for me :

From 1980 (a Thom Bell-production) and from 1979 (a George Duke-production).
On "Bad for Me" she does a re-do of a great Wiz-track. Worth to check out.

I forgot to add Deniece Williams to the list. Any of her early albums will do the trick.

I was also lucky enough to find the 1988 cast album of "Mama, i want to sing", where Hicks appeared

And let`s not forget the blue-eyed soul.... Helen Terry was known as Culture club`s back-up singer, but released a solo album in the late 80s.

Here i post her best song, "laughter on my mind", which was a b-side

Marcia Hines

Huge in Australia and New Zealand in the late 70s, her biggest hit was Somethings Missing in My life.

She was born in Boston in 1950, and came to Oz in 1972 to star in the Australian version of Hair, she then had a pop career and several smash hits. She still performs now and was one of the Judges on Australian Idol.

Her daughter Deni (born 1970) is also in the music business and sang with an outfil calle dthe Rockmelons in the early 1990s, they had a big hit with L. O. V.E.
