So one of the Cheetah Girls is playing Lil Kim

you know who they should've gotten to play Kim?

When is the Marvin Gaye movie coming out? haven't they been working on that forever?

I read that Jesse L. Martin is supposed to play Marvin and that John Legend is supposed to be Smokey. The thing is, the producers of the movie are having trouble securing the rights to Marvin's music with Motown; this means that only music from the last ten years of his life, will be featured. This is why it is taking so long for this to come out.

WHAT! disbelief They have to do something in order for all, if not most of his music to be used. How you going to do a Marvin movie without the hits from the early years? DAMN YOU MOTOWN!!!! pissed
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Calm down, there's another film of Marvin in the works and THAT has Marvin's music. wink

"Sexual Healing" (the film with Jesse) was pushed to 2010 according to IMDB. lol

Oh, & I'm expecting this movie to be sheer ass nod

Not having Angela do the accent is a bad move - wtf?? Plus she don't look shit like Biggie's mom, so maybe they should have recast. Don't get me wrong, I love Angela... but damn neutral

She doesn't look like her but more importantly, how are you going to have Biggie's mom without an ACCENT?

Anyone who has done any research would pick that up instantly if they actually studied their role.

Maybe she couldn't pull it off convincingly. Come to think of it, I've never heard Angela do an accent hmmm nonetheless, they should have recast. But of course they give more of a shit about star power than accuracy. hammer I understand the decision, but disagree w/ it. Eh well, more work for Angela shrug

they wont get involved because its all gang related, always was. And the gang ties stretch to alot of the LAPD members, as well as Suge Knight and alot of his artists at the time, so they are all involved, and for the record covering up a felony/murder is a crime, though no one will ever be prosecuted for it.

Of course not because the LAPD is complicit in all of this so of course the TRUTH will never come to light. Did they settle with Voletta Wallace or what?

Talking about the men in blue being complicit, let me tell you a short story about two NYPD detectives. It is public knowledge, made the front page, and I don't know if you knew the story. For over twenty years, there were cold cases of dead bodies being found in ditches and dumpsters. They were shot execution style. As it turned out, it was two detectives who was moonlighting for the mob. After their arrest, some construction workers found a skeleton at their site, but they were investigating as to whether or not John Gotti was involved in it before he died of throat cancer. I believe when Gotti's underboss sang like a canary on him and others, plus is put under protection, it opened up a whole can of worms. Now there's a 1 million dollar hit out on him. So yes, if the police can cover up mob hits, they can cover up Biggie's murder, and that's by being involved.

I think those are some of the reasons why Sylvester Stallone gave up on this project a decade ago.He wanted to direct it and play one of the investigating cops.

nod Biggie being of Jamaican descent is kinda central to his upbringing and even to his rapping IMO, makes no sense. You know who coulda been good? Phyllis Yvonne Stickney. She does a great accent and kinda favors Biggie with her skin tone. Remember when she played Taye Diggs' mom in Stella? Taye on the other hand does a HORRIBLE West Indian accent. Totally cringe worthy. shake

There's this actress, she's not big, but she played Eddie Murphy's mother and the Queen in "Coming To America", and she's also the voice of Simba's mother in Disney's "Lion King". She's straight up West Indian, and would be good for the part as his mother. Her name is Madge Sinclair.

And who knows what Stallone was coming up on when he was doing research for the movie. He probably most likely got threats coming to him for "digging in too deep" and finding out things that "he wasn't suppose to know". And this is also a valid reason for him giving up the project, not saying that this was the case, but it could have been. Its not like Stallone could have called up Apollo Creed and Clubber Lang for protection. lol

Yes, and she seems to had a warmth about her. I remember her from Trapper John MD, too. Another thing is I didn't know that actress Esther Rolle from "Good Times" was West Indian until her death.
