Patrice Rushen appreciation Let's talk about her music. I love her use of melodic percussion or whatever it is, it sounds so pretty, pure, calming and melodic. I love Remind Me and Forget Me Nots best | |

some of my favorites by her....
"Remind Me" (1982)---so breezy and melodic.It's always a treat to hear this song. "Look Up" (1980)---early 80s funk/R&B at its best "Haven't You Heard" (1979) "High In Me" (1984) "Feels So Real (Won't Let Go)" (1984) "Get Off (You Fascinate Me)" (1984)---don't be fooled by her cool demeanor...Patrice can get FUNKY when she wants to! "Let There Be Funk" is an underrated funk classic! Now I have to ask this question: was Patrice on the vocoder to that song?  I think I asked when I posted the song here and on YouTube but no one answered me. | |

In that case I will check out more of her work. I caught a couple of her late 80's stuff and didn't like it at all, but the early 80's stuff sounds pure and timeless like fine wine | |
