2008 in reflection: Your best and worst?

Ok .orger's now that 2008 is coming to a close, what albums have been your fave or wot ae you most disappointed in? Have you discovered any acts you now cant live without?

My fave 2008: Metallica - Death Magnetic, WELCOME BACK BOYS! smile smile

Close second, Madonna - Hard Candy (yea i know this wont make me very popular, but i thought it was madonna's best in a long, long time)

Closer third - Janet Discipline, damn this was a fun record, great dance tracks and even the slower stuff was great, really overlooked this year by the mainstream.

Finally, Cyndi Lauper - To The Brink, great fun once again.

Most disappointing 2008: Didnt buy anything i didnt like in 08! smile

New acts ive discovered or explored this year: While not new ive bought and absorbed every peice of Rick James' back-catalogue i can get my hands on and loved every second of it. Previously only knowing the big hits...

Ditto goes for David Bowie, im now investing in his back-catalogue...and its blowing me away!!

What ive learned from typing this post? I need to check out some new artists LOL, stuck in the 80s maybe a little too much!

lol lol lol

My favs this year are Ben Folds, The B-52's, Hayes Carll, k.d. lang.

I don't think I bought anything that i hated this year enough to warrant a worse of.

Really no CDs to brag on. Most of my enjoyment came from live shows, but I'm looking forward to new efforts from Earl Greyhound, Relentless 7, and a few TV ON The Radio shows

Raphael Saadiq The Way I See It
Solange Sol-Angel and the Hadley St Dreams

The list for the worst in 2008 would have to go to the following:

It's sad,but I didn't really buy alot of "new" music in 2008.I think I bought about 4 new CDs in 2008,which I really enjoyed, but mostly I just continue to listen to older music from the past.

Best: Funplex, B-52s; Oracular Spectacular, MGMT

Worst: I didn't get anything I hated, really. I'm pretty choosy - and sample extensively before I buy.
