I used to love them too, until I heard each of their hits 2,000 times each.

But I still love them.

I didn't. I wish I had more time to keep up with all the bands I loved back in the day. So much music, so little time. sad

I loved them too, until they decided together with Timberland and fuck up a musical formula that was not broken and had been working for years.

woot! I was rocking out to Duran Duran yesterday. Dems my boys. I had the chance to see them in concert several years ago, but I got sick and couldn't make it. I'll be there next time around, though.

I don't mind them trying to freshen up their sound a bit, but I wasn't feeling the Timbaland stuff either. I hope they were happy with the results.

I saw this thread and hoped it wasn't about D2. lol Yeah working with Timbaland wasn't a good move on their part altho I did end up liking a couple of songs. That didn't affect my love for their music. There's a fansite that has lots of mixes and remixes of their songs. It gives the songs a freshness.

nod I love that shit! It's mostly Tim's protege Danja; Tim's only behind a few tracks. This is my favorite track and it didn't even make the proper album (it's a bonus track on iTunes and the Japanese album):

A mixed bag for the most part, but its the most "empty" sounding Duran Duran album in their catalog. They did tour the shit out of the album, but for the most part it was not very well accepted and not by their longtime fans either, mostly hit or miss. I think it was really the absence of any "guitars" on the album, despite what people may think of Duran Duran, they arent a synth band, they are based around alot of instruments, and most of that was missing in the mix of the last album. Andy left early on, and with no real guitar player in there (mainly a session) player, there was a huge hole in the sound. It will be interesting to see what Duran does next, i dont see them staying with Sony, nor do i see this current direction with danja happening again.

Most longtime fans hate it when a band changes some of their key elements. I hope they haven't gotten too far away from their signature sound and style.
