You`re all gonna hate me for saying this, but it`s a shame she wasted her talent on disco, she had (and still have) as much soul as Aretha and Gladys.

No hate here, SunnySkies, I agree. Donna's voice is as soulful as Aretha's and Gladys'. I saw this first last year. nod Love her version.

I would love to hear her sing "Natural woman" during her heyday....

Nothing wrong with disco no no no! lol Disco needed a powerful voice like Donna and she became the Queen of that genre.Despite her awesome voice,if she had done R&B,she might have got lost in the shuffle (considering the competition).

Dont`t get me wrong, i LOOOOVE disco, but sometimes the voice gets lost in the music. However, songs like "Last dance" sound soulful to me

I bet she did when she was a teen, lol. But yeah I know what you mean. She did a performance of that song several years back on tour.

Remember, she trained to be an opera singer, so she has the chops. I think she is one of the greatest singers of our time!!

As you already said, this song has been done to death, but I like this. Not crazy about the arrangement, but she sings is well.

btw,"A Song For You" was performed frequently on Donna's 1978 tour but for some reason,it was not included on her 1978 double album 'Live And More'.

That album is begging to be remastered!!

Maybe it was due to Leon Russell, the writer of the song not wanting to grant permission?

Do you have the 'Live And More' CD? It's a joke lol The sound quality is whack and it doesn't even include "The MacArthur Park Suite"!! They apparently couldn't squeeze it on the CD so they included "Theme from 'The Deep' instead....even though that song was never a part of this album!

They need to start from scratch and re-issue this CD,including the whole album as well as the complete 'MacArthur Park Suite'.If there are some other live tracks from this tour, include those too.If there is some live footage from this tour, why not include it as bonus DVD?

obsessed

I always did think she had a tremendous voice,
no matter what genre she was doing..

I have to agree with RipHer2Threads in regards to the arrangement however.

I love the album anyway lol "Only one man" is amazing, love the "My man medley"....

I just bought a cd with Donna`s rendition of "Someone to watch over med", it was nice to hear her sing that kind of song.

It's an amazing album....one of the most impressive live albums I've ever heard.Donna brings new life to many of her older songs. In fact,I actually prefer the live versions of songs like "Try Me","Spring Affair" and "Faster and Faster To Nowhere".These faster, more exciting versions put the bland album versions to shame!

Was "Mimi`s song" written for the live album?
