Hendrix Would Have Been 60 today: A Tribute Thread I don't ever recall a thread on Hendrix in this forum, which is scary considering Samantha Fox has one now.

I just know him from mp3z and and the jime hendrix experience CD that isa compilation. I love all his music. But from teh top of my head I could say Ezy Rider, Angel, Voodoo Child, Foxy Lady, Red House, he's genious. Everybody says that they love Hendrix but very few listen to his music. Most people just says they love him but never listens his music. What is a shame. | |

Jimi was truly something else.the Cat did so much in a SHort Period of time.the Great Comment I Ever Heard about Him came from James Mtume:He was quoted as saying that the White Media&Press would never let another Black Artist do the things that Jimi Hendrix did.He truly flipped the Script&One of the Few Cats that Stayed around the Corner from everybody else IMHO. mistermaxxx | |

Despite all of his classic recordings he made while he was alive...my favorite is Radio One that was released in 1987. This is my absolute favorite Jimi Hendrix record. You get stunning versions of his classics like "Purple Haze" and Foxy Lady. And you get songs like Hear-My-Train-AComin, Catfish Blues, and Drivng South. This is a classic 5-star document of Jimi's talents. It is brillant from start to finish.
Sad he passed when he did, because he was about to take him music to another dimension. It appears he was about to fall off into some funk. | |

Thanksgiving eve (well at 2 a.m. Thanksgiving morning)the one lone free form radio dj here in southern california played Litle Wing, Angel, then Angel by Rod Stewart and the faces, Angel bu this angeled voice singer Lucinda something -not Williams, then Little Wing by Jimi again, and Stevie Ray Vaughns Little Wing...
Just noticed-loved how he used those songs to show Jimis Quiet Power and how other sinterpetations still make you think of "damn..only if he waz still with us". "Climb in my fur." | |

like with p, it was my mom that got me into jimi. i remember her crying when he died! i didn't really understand what all the fuss was about until i was 16 and listened to electric ladyland. the star-spangled banner still gives me chills...
