To tell you the truth, they pissed me off when they dropped Planet Jazz (used to be 70)!
I thought with the XM merge they'd bring it back, but now a similar channel Beyond Jazz is gone (XM 72). tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

SoulTown
Octane Chill Electronica Jazz Standards Bluesville Spa Liquid Metal 70's Shade 45 Hip Hop (very raw) ..and I also stumbled onto Playboy..(OUCH!!!) I never hear P's music on there. Did he put a block on his music there too? I love AC/DC but I don't think they should have a whole channel dedicated to them.

i'm usually on the chill channel, which has gotten a little better since the XM Sirrus merge. i'm still not entirely thrilled with what the channel is doing though, they play a song by AIR 3 times an hour!
The Joint is alright, especially when they're doing the dub thing at night. other than those, i might hit the jazz channel, the ol' school hip-hop channel and the classic soul. XMU grabs me once and while. . [Edited 12/27/08 8:26am]

I got Soultown, Bluesville, Real Jazz, The Joint, Octane, Jam_on, and The Vault, but I spend most time on the polititcal talk shows like POTUS, LEFT, NPR NOW and drop in on FOX, TALK and PATRIOT.
PLANET JAZZ had a real good mix of fusion and avant-garde but it got mixed with an adult-contempt (misspelled intentionally) yuppie pooprock mix and it sounds like smoothjazz wave music. The XM fusion channel had in studio guests like Corea DiMeola and Metheny who'd perform live. I got HOWARD STERN FOXXHOLE and RAW DOG plugged in for occasional laffs. They used to have an NBA channel with a talk show and rebroadcasts from NBA TV, but that gave way to XM and now games are spread out allover the place. I really miss the NBA talk show which featured Rick Barry and Rick Mahorn and the goofy guy from ESPN. During the conventions they had special frequencies used for coverage and airing of historical soundbites. They had "limited engagement" channels for THE WHO and AC/DC, butI only listened to the Led Zeppelin channel, THE BRIDGE and there are permanent stations for Springsteen, Sinatra, Elvis and Grateful Dead (none of which I listen to). test
